MechWarrior Willi "The Whiner" James was a member of Romy's Command Lance, Romy's Assault Company, First Battalion (Noble's Assault Battalion) of the Waco Rangers from at least 3017 to 3025.[1]

From when he joined the Waco Rangers in 3017 until 3025, James recorded nine kills and was considered a proficient MechWarrior. He was however a chronic complainer, bemoaning his dreary existence, which drove his lancemates to distraction.[2]
