System Description[edit]
Woodstock was located near the Acamar and Kawich systems,[2][3] and consists of a class G5V primary orbited by nine planets, at least one of which is habitable.[1]
System History[edit]
The Woodstock system was colonized in the second half of the twenty-second century by refugees from the North American continent of Terra.[1]
Star League[edit]
The Woodstock system served as the home port for the Thirty-fourth Recon Squadron of the Third Fleet of the Star League Navy. The orbital shipyards at the nadir jump point, while small, served as their base of operations.[4]

Woodstock IV, more commonly known simply as Woodstock, is the fourth planet in the Woodstock system and has a single moon named Lionel.[1]
Planetary History[edit]
Star League[edit]
The main site for agriculture on Woodstock was York, which produced the majority of the beef raised on the planet as well as substantial amounts of tobacco for cigars. Sjardijin became the site of the planetary capital, Recital City, and it was on Sjardijin that the Terran Hegemony established an agricultural research center dedicated to researching ways to more efficiently produce food on Hegemony worlds. The Star League continued to support the research station, as well as building a military base on Essex.[1]
During the Amaris Civil War, the 141st Amaris Dragoons attacked the Star League Defense Force troops on Essex, using chemical and nuclear weapons to obliterate the SLDF units and the base. The weapons used by the Dragoons rendered the entire continent uninhabitable and it would remain so for at least another four centuries; as late as the thirty-second century it was still lifeless and being used to study the effects of radiation on the environment.[1]
Succession War[edit]
When forces from the Federated Suns conquered Woodstock during the Fourth Succession War they discovered rumors that the Star League had identified a new method of pest control which would subsequently noticeably advance the science of pest control.[1]
Jihad[edit]
Woodstock surrendered to the Word of Blake during the first half of December 3069 and was subsequently incorporated into the Word of Blake Protectorate.[35] The Blakists accepted the surrender offered by the planetary government and allowed Woodstock to carry on producing food throughout the Jihad, with that food then being exported to Terra and various other worlds within the Protectorate.[1]
Woodstock was liberated in a near-bloodless victory for the allied coalition forces in mid-to-late 3077 as a part of the Federated Suns front of Operation SCOUR.[42] The commander of the Blakist garrison surrendered both the planet and his forces to Devlin Stone's army.[1]
By the end of December 3079 Woodstock was one of more than twenty planets to have suffered an outbreak of the Redburn Virus, and one of eight to suffer from an infection rate of more than 150 out of every 100,000 people, as well as a mortality rate of more than 30 per 100,000 from the virus.[43]

Geography[edit]
Woodstock is a temperate world with three oceans that cover almost three-quarters of the planetary surface and three continents. The largest of the continents is York, the smallest is Sjardijin, and the medium-sized continent is Essex.[1]
The system had a different nature of sun to that found in the Sol system, Woodstock was ideal for starting a new life on. The population concentrated on agriculture and breeding livestock, and would continue to do so for centuries.[1]
