System Description[edit]

Wrociaw is located near the Biuque and Timkovichi systems.[3][4]

Planetary History[edit]

The Dark Age[edit]

In the mid-thirty-second century, Malvina Hazen led her Golden Ordun on a rampage, targeting numerous Lyran Commonwealth worlds including Wrociaw. Clan Jade Falcon still possessed a sizeable contingent of Star League-era WarShips and Hazen had shown on a number of occasions that she was more than willing to deal with dug-in defenders by having her cruisers bombard them from orbit—most famously against the Kell Hounds mercenary unit on Timkovichi. The defenders on Wrociaw anticipated the same thing happening on their world, and adopted what was becoming a common strategy on many Lyran worlds: that of attacking the WarShips as primary targets.[36]

It was at Wroclaw that the Lyran defenders came the closest to destroying a Jade Falcon WarShip in any of the battles fought up to 3145; Lyran fighters managed to ambush the Black Lion-class battlecruiser CJF White Aerie as it approached Wrociaw and evaded the Golden Ordun fighters long enough to launch no less than five nuclear weapons at the WarShip. Unfortunately for the Lyrans, three of the nukes were deflected off-target by the ECM systems on a pair of NL-45 Gunboats escorting the White Aerie, while the other two nukes were destroyed as they approached the battlecruiser by a third NL-45 Gunboat which had been lurking close to it. None of the Lyran fighters survived the battle.[36]

Notes[edit]

  • The various maps within Handbook: House Steiner show Wrociaw as Wroclaw. It has been confirmed by Øystein that this is an error, and that the planet is named Wrociaw:
Wrociaw is the correct spelling, dating back to the original House Steiner sourcebook.

With regards, Øystein
