Wyndham was a failed aerospace pilot and successful tank driver of Clan Jade Falcon in the late Dark Age era.

History[edit]

Wyndham was a trueborn Jade Falcon genetically engineered as an aerospace pilot. However, he failed at his Trial of Position. Wyndham refused to become a flight technician with the Falcon's fleet, instead volunteering for combat with Turkina's ground forces, remaining a warrior.[1]

As the Clans had reduced greatly their aerospace and BattleMech numbers, and had expanded their armor and Infantry branches, he joined the first one, piloting a tank. His fighter's eyesight, reflexes, and cryogenic nerve made him not only to win a position in that service, but so proficient in his job than even MechWarriors accorded him respect.

He joined Galaxy Commander Malvina Hazen's Delta Galaxy at an unknown date, and with them, in 3134 participated in the desant, the invasión of Republic of the Sphere's space. Wyndham survived through all the operation, and he had become by consensus, the best driver in all the Gyrfalcons. For this reason, on the 3 August 3135, when Clan Hell's Horses Galaxy Commander Tristan Fletcher arrived on Skye to declare a Trial of Position over the Mongol Doctrine, and Malvina choose to fight in a tank, choosing him as her driver.[2] Wyndham followed all Malvina's orders blindly, without hesitation, even when she ordered him to ram Fletcher's Scimitar Mk.II. The impact left Wyndham pinned in his tank's wreck, with his right leg broken. Malvina congratulated him before jump out of the tank to kill Fletcher with her hands.[3]

When Malvina took a Galaxy of his units to Sudeten, to fight Khan Jana Pryde and took the command of all his Clan, Wyndham was one of them. On 14 September 3135 on Sudeten, he was piloting an APC when the Khan's loyalists tried to assassinate Malvina, and he was the one to evacuate her.[4] Despite being attacked by a Falcon's Uller OmniMech, Wyndham managed to avoid most of the fire, and piloted his damaged hover through the city. When found fight in the way, suggested their passengers to leave the APC and hole on a building, but it wasn't necessary: the Mongol Falcon followers arrived and rescued them. When they reached their destination, Malvina was furious for the rough ride he gave her. The driver awaited his punishment, and was very surprised to hear her promotion to Star Captain rank. Malvina didn't accepted a refusal, and the surprised Wyndham accepted the promotion.[5]

Personality[edit]

Wyndham, surprisingly, appears to lack any ambition, and have refused advancement in rank and in position, even to more prestigious of gunner or vehicle commander. Such behavior was at odds with Clan character, and more of hot-blooded Falcon nature. It had been suggested than he may be simply searching death serving the Falcon expiating the shame of his failure in the Trial of Position, but in is uncertain.[6]

Combat Vehicles[edit]

It is unknown what class of tank Wyndham commonly piloted, but during the duel against the Hell's Horses, his machine was a Scimitar Mk.II. In Sudeten, he piloted a Merlin-hover APC.[7]
