Yimpisee Fever

Yimpisee Fever (or Yimpisi Fever) was a highly fatal viral illness, with neurotoxic effects, which caused sufferers to laugh uncontrollably.[1][2][3]

Overview[edit]

Yimpisee Fever was named after the Zulu word for "hyena", "impisi", due to a symptom of its neurotoxicity which caused victims to laugh uncontrollably.[2]

A possible viral mutation of this fever was reported on Butler in 3072, after it was reportedly suspected by Clan Jade Falcon scientists, in the deaths of Galaxy Commanders Tavin Mattlov and Erik Chistu.[1] This variant appeared to later spread further within the Clan Jade Falcon Occupation Zone, with a major outbreak occurring on Leskovik in 3073, which killed around a third of the population during the four months required to produce and deliver the antidote serum from offworld.[2][3]
