Younger Wynn V was the President of Wynn's Roost in 2835, and the force behind the creation of the Traders Domain[1]
History[edit]
In the 2820s, Wynn's Roost began constructing a manufacturing facility for producing crude fusion reactors. While the fusion reactors were primitive even in comparison with Age of War-standard fusion reactors, they represented a lifeline for desperately struggling worlds throughout the Traders Domain province, as they could be easily transported off-world. The facility had been carefully located in an island isolated within a lake contained inside the caldera of a dormant volcano on the southernmost of the two islands known as Thorpett's Haunts. The terrain was suitably hellish, featuring acidic waters and very dense sulfuric fumes, and the site was guarded by missile-armed patrol boats, tanks and infantry. A training school had been constructed at the same site, so that engineers and technicians could be trained for the vital work of maintaining the facility and producing the reactors.[2]
In 2833, the facility was attacked by pirates. It was suspected that the pirates were actually mercenaries hired by the government of Onverwacht, the provincial capital of the Onverwacht Province, another region of the Outworlds Alliance, and the results were devastating for Wynn's Roost. The pirates planned to begin their raid with a combat drop on the facility, followed up by landing their DropShips to carry away the loot once the garrison had been defeated or suppressed. The attacking pirates hadn't anticipated how difficult the terrain was to operate in, and ended up calling in their DropShips early; the DropShips quickly encountered fire from the garrison, and one Mule pilot panicked. The Mule jinked sideways, missing its intended landing spot on the factory parking lot and smashed into the factory, turning the factory and the school, destroying both in a burning pyre. The destruction of the facility proved a key factor in President Younger Wynn V's decision to take the Traders Domain out of the Outworlds Alliance in 2835.[2]
