The 'Mech Marten is a rodent found in urban environments such as spaceports and large cities on nearly all inhabited worlds.[1][2]
Description[edit]
Though its homeworld and origins are unknown, the 'Mech Marten is believed to be a descendent of a Marten-like species on a newly colonized world hundreds of years ago that was unintentionally carried to planets throughout the Inner Sphere. These small omnivores have adapted to human civilization and have developed an appetite for myomer bundles, power cables, and electric circuit boards found in BattleMechs, which they gnaw on with their sharp, elongated incisors. Microscopic hairs on their footpads allow them to climb even smooth and steep surfaces, and their agile bodies can fit into cracks six centimeters wide.[1][2]
These four-legged creatures have furred hides and can be found in nearly every color from white to pitch-black. Though shy to humans, they have good vision and smell and are quite acrobatic, being able to jump two meters.[1]
