Overview

The One Hundred Forty-Ninth BattleMech Division was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.

History

In 2764, the unit was assigned, as a part of the IV Corps, Tenth Army, to Destrict 3 of the Free Worlds League Military Region but was moved to an undisclosed area of the Periphery to take part in the Periphery Uprising by 2765[1]. The 149th survived the war and the Hegemony Campaign, and followed General Aleksandr Kerensky on the Exodus in 2784.[1]

The Star League in Exile kept the 149th Division on the rolls. Absalom Truscott was its last commanding officer before Nicholas Kerensky founded the Clans and reorganized the military entirely.[2] The 149th Division was commanded by a Major General Carson in the years immediately prior to the Pentagon Civil War and during the early years of the war; Carson was a member of the Order of the Star and a close friend of Andery Kerensky. In September 2801 leadership within the SLDF was divided following the death of General Aleksandr Kerensky; the 149th Division was the first Division to follow Nicholas Kerensky, in part due to the personal loyalty Carson held to Andery.[3]

Composition

As an SLDF BattleMech Division the 149th would have been composed with two Brigades of 'Mech regiments and one brigade of Mechanized Infantry regiments.[4]
