History
The Seventeenth Liao Lancers officially formed in 2783, but their origins lay in an older command, the 166th Mechanized Infantry Division and the 147th Mechanized Infantry Division.[1] The 166th was originally a part of XXXVII Corps within the Star League Defense Force Fourth Army,[2] but in 2783 the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces recruited two battalions of assorted personnel from the 166th and used them as the basis for mustering the Seventeenth.[1]
