History

Amaris Civil War

The 19th Amaris Dragoons were stationed in Singapore during Operation Chieftain. The Star League's 7th Army was deployed to neutralise the Dragoons and the nearest Castle Brian in Iphoh. Despite sabotaging the bridges that connected the island to the peninsula and digging in, the Dragoons were unable to stop the 250th BattleMech Division, 20th Mechanized Infantry Division and 60th Jump Infantry Division from securing a foothold on the island on the 8th of February, 2777. This followed after a week of heavy fighting and air attacks which inflicted casualties on the SLDF attackers, especially the 20th Mechanized. The Dragoons were pushed back from the western half of the island in two days, and by the 19th of February were trapped between the harbor and the River in the south.

On the 20th, the Dragoons unexpectedly broke out of the containment, heading towards Changi Spaceport, and stopped just short of the complex. Subsequently, the Dragoons attacked northward through Pasir Ris, aiming to ford the Strait into the Malaysian peninsula. In the ensuing running battle, the SLDF hospital, treating many of the SLDF casualties taken in the earlier attack into the island, was destroyed. Because of this, the SLDF showed little mercy to the Dragoons, who were defeated with few survivors.

These survivors were imprisoned and later charged with war crimes after the war, but were acquitted by the tribunal, who ruled the hospital's destruction as an accident rather than a deliberate war crime. [1]
