History[edit]

The First Andurien Guards were formed as the premiere defensive unit in the Duchy of Andurien. The unit is largely composed of heavy and assault elements that couldn't keep up with the fast moving Andurien Rangers units. By consolidating them into a single unit, the Andurien commanders hoped to maximize the utility of the heavier units.[1]

In the decades since their formation, the First Andurien Guards were able to validate the concept that led to their formation, and this success led to the unit being increased to two battalions. It also led to the formation of more Andurien Guards units. The First Guard often trains against the Second Andurien Rangers. The Second is known for its ability to goad opponents into unfavorable terrain, but the First often pins enemy forces in place.[2] They were stationed on Andurien in 3145.[3]
