History[edit]
The First Avalon Borderers were an Armed Forces of the Federated Suns regiment formed in the brief period between the beginning of the Amaris Civil War and the First Succession War.[1]
First Succession War[edit]
The First Avalon Borderers remained the only unit within the Avalon Borderers brigade until 2784, when the AFFS recruited the surviving elements of the Star League Defense Force Fifth Hussar Regiment, 149th Dragoon Regiment and 2004th Battle Regiment and redesignated them as the Second through Fourth Avalon Borderers.[2] The First Avalon Borderers survived the First Succession War, although they lost almost half their strength during the conflict. One of their sister regiments, the Third, was less fortunate.[1]
Second Succession War[edit]
The First Avalon Borderers had rebuilt to eighty-six percent of full strength by the time the Second Succession War began full-force, but were destroyed during the war.[3]

- - At this point in time the Borderers were a medium-weight regiment stationed on New Avalon and were operating at full strength.[1]In 2821 the unit was reduced to a little more than half-strength.[1]
2830[edit]
First Avalon Borderers (Regiment/Regular/Reliable)[3]
- - At this point in time the Borderers were a medium-weight regiment and had rebuilt to more than four-fifths of full strength. The Borderers were stationed on Helixmar.[3] The unit was destroyed during the war.

- The Avalon Borderers Brigade is not listed as an active brigade in Field Report 2765: AFFS and is therefore presumed to have been founded between 2765 and the beginning of the First Succession War in 2786.
