History
Age of War
The original First Tikonov Guards was a unit that fought for the Capellan Confederation during the Age of War. They were apparently destroyed and the Strategios decided not to rebuild the unit.
Reformation
Numerous resistance groups were formed with Maskirovka assistance following the loss of central authority brought about by Gray Monday. Hailing from former Sarna Commonality worlds taken by the Republic of the Sphere, these rebels and defectors immediately joined the invading Capellan Confederation Armed Forces as auxiliaries serving in irregular battalions. These battalions were soon reequipped from Capellan supply depots and assembled to become the First Tikonov Guards.[1]
The unit was assigned as a reserve regiment of the Tikonov Commonality by 3145.[2]
Operation GREAT FLOOD
The First Tikonov Guards were formed soon after Operation GREAT FLOOD began. Originally a reinforced regiment, minimal training resulted in significant casualties over time.[1]
Operation CELESTIAL REWARD
Sometime in 3144[3], the Third Sian Dragoons and the First Tikonov Guards fought the First Federated Suns Armored Cavalry for control of Almach as part of Operation CELESTIAL REWARD. The superior maneuverability and ambush tactics employed by the Federated Suns unit resulted in a victory against the Capellan force. The planet would fall in a second invasion attempt later that year.[4]

In 3145 the commanding officer was Sang-shao Juanping Karina.[5]

The First Tikonov Guards was an Augmented Regiment formation and used tactics appropriate for it.
Unit Emblem
The regiment flies dark green banners from their mechs and vehicles. Equipment is painted dark green and goldenrod.[1]
