The Twenty-Second Rasalhagian Free Company were assigned to defend Vipaava.[1]

History
In August 3050 Vipaava was invaded by Clan Ghost Bear as part of Operation REVIVAL, the Clan invasion of the Inner Sphere, during the fourth wave of attacks. The invading forces were drawn from the Fourteenth Battle Cluster, which deployed Alpha Battle Star of the 23rd Battle Trinary and Alpha Nova Star of the 76th Supernova to capture the planet. The Ghost Bear forces issued a batchall to the defending 22nd Rasalhagian Free Company who agreed to the challenge and to meet at the Lion's Den, a rock outcropping well away from the nearest cities and towns. Suspecting a trap, the Ghost Bear warriors were surprised to find the defending Twenty-second not only waiting to engage them at the agreed-upon location, but then fought in an honorable fashion. Alpha Nova Star engaged the Twenty-second first and swiftly decimated the KungsArmé forces, forcing the survivors to surrender. The defeat of the Twenty-second was a major factor in convincing senior officers in the KungsArmé that winning a straight fight against Clan forces was impossible, and that new tactics would be needed.[2]
