The Twenty-third Lyran Regulars was a BattleMech regiment in service to Lyran Commonwealth during the Second Succession War.
History
Following Elizabeth Steiner's assumption of the Archonship in 2859, she dissolved the regency. The Archon appointed Henry DeCalidore to command of a new regiment, the Twenty-third Lyran Regulars, stationed on Zosma along with orders to head to the Combine front to ensure he was kept too busy to do anything else than oversee his new regiment.[1] [2]
The unit was stationed on Sakhalin when it was raided by Draconis Combine forces in February 2860. The raid was spearheaded by a large number of Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery Land-Air 'Mechs. Though the Lyran forces were able to successfully repulse the Combine forces after inflicting heavy losses upon them, the Kurita troops were successful in killing Colonel DeCalidore.[3]
The Twenty-third Lyran Regulars appear to be destroyed on Sakhalin between 2860 and 2863, as by 2964 the unit was listed as destroyed.[4]
