History
Kindraa Kline
The Twenty Seventh Vanguard Assault Cluster was the garrison of the Kindraa's holdings on Shadow in 3059.[1]
In 3067 two clusters from Kindraa Mick-Kreese joined Iota Galaxy of Clan Blood Spirit for an assault on Clan Star Adder on Tathis. Jealousy prompted Kindraa Kilne to send the 27th Vanguard, 31st Vanguard Striker and 42nd Vanguard Battle Clusters to join the assault. Joining the battle late, Kindraa Kline dropped into the middle of the combat, and the resulting confusion inflicted heavy losses on everyone involved, with many incidents of friendly fire. The Kindraa Kline forces took seventy-five percent casualties.[2][3]
Kindraa Mick-Kreese-Kline
Based on York[4] the Cluster was rebuilt to almost full strength by November 3067 using material from the destroyed 31st Vanguard Striker and the 21st Vanguard Battle Cluster.[5]
In late 3068 the Kindraa struck out against Clan Hell's Horses enclaves on Kirin. SaKhan Kline's forces, including the Twenty-seventh, met with initial success capturing several important facilities, factories and cities almost a third of Kirin and winning important raw resources and materials. She failed to notice the quality of the troops lined up against her and was surprised but a counter attack by the Horses Delta Galaxy that pushed the Mandrills out of almost every enclave except KM City. [6]
The exact history of the clusters participation in the Wars of Reaving is uncertain. If they survived the disastrous fighting during 3071 is not known. If they did they certainly did not survive the Vipers call for a Trial of Reaving against Kindraa Mick-Kline-Kreese-Sainze in January 3072.[7]

Rules
They receive a +1 initiative bonus as a defender in a scenario. Their Mechwarriors receive a -1 to hit modifier for weapon attacks at a range of 1 hex.[9]
Notes
In the Wars of Reaving source book there is confusion in the name of the unit and it is written as the 27th Vanguard Battle Cluster.
