History

What started as the only regiment of Dneiper Planetary Militia had grown to a full wing by 2902. The unit has remained on Dneiper and is still fanitical about protecting the planet and the surrounding systems from pirate incursions.

Officers

Chairman Devon Newman is the current commander of the 2nd. His unique research into aerial tactics has resulted in some failure, but often catches his foes off guard.

Chairman Seymore Harris commands the ground forces of the 2nd. His background as a mercenary and mech pilot has made him the object of derision. This has not hampered his efforts to keep the units morale high in spite of the rapid growth of the ground forces from two companies to a mixed regiment.

Tactics

Composition

3062

2nd Wing Command Regiment(Red Lightning) (4 Squadrons/Elite/Fanatical)[1]

- Composed of Older fighters using Star League tech, but the CO and his wingman pilot brand new S-4 Sai fighters.

2nd Wing Second Regiment(Blue Lightning) (3 Squadrons/Elite/Reliable)[2]

- A recurring morale problem is being investigated as being caused by an enemy of state.

2nd Wing Third Regiment(Green Lightning) (3 Squadrons/Elite/Fanatical)[3]

- Built around light fighters the unit is almost always used for scouting and bombing, rather than interception and dogfighting.

1st Long Road Legion Command Battalion (Shooting Stars) (Battalion/Regular/Reliable)[4]

- The unit is composed mostly of medium mechs with the occasional fast heavy sprinkled in. Around ten percent of the unit has recieved upgrade kits, but more are expected by the end of the year.

2nd Long Road Legion Second Battalion (Rising Stars) (Battalion/Green/Questionable)[5]

- Because of the influx of new recruits the CO has had a difficult time of keeping the morale up. A request to the Military Review Board is pending.

3rd Long Road Legion Command Battalion (Shining Stars) (Battalion/Green/Questionable)[6]

- Morale issues have been overcome by not letting the unit become complacent and constantly busy.

Notes

Rules

The Second Wing/First Long Road Legion receive a +1 Initiative bonus when both ground and aerospace assets of the units are active. Second Wing fighters recieve a -1 to-hit modifier when performing dive-bombing and level-bombing attacks.[7]
