Overview
The Second Infantry Regiment was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army.
History
In 2764, the unit was assigned, as a part of the XXV Corps, Eighth Army, to District 1 of the Free Worlds League Military Region. The unit was stationed in the Marik Commonwealth in 2765, and would frequently relocate to worlds that lacked a FWLM presence.[1]
It was then transferred to District 3 by 2765, to take part in the Periphery Uprising.[2]
In 2773 the Second was part of the first wave of troops to hit the planet of Connaught. They smuggled themselves in system disguised on merchant vessels along with the 189th Battle Regiment. Joining up with the 157th BattleMech Division that arrived via a pirate point close to the planet on three Potemkin-class warships, they dropped on to the highest priority targets. Over the next few days they took heavy casualties before being relieved by the main assault force of the Eighth Army. [3]
The 2nd was destroyed during the Hegemony Campaign.[2]
