Overview
The Second Jaguar Regulars were a second line military formation of Clan Smoke Jaguar.
History
Operation REVIVAL
Wave Two
At the conclusion of Wave Two saKhan Sarah Weaver petitioned for and was granted permission by ilKhan Leo Showers to bring forward the Garrison Clusters to hold the Clan's recently captured worlds. [1] The Second Regulars was one of these Clusters.
Wave Five
The Fourth Nova Cat Guards contested possession of Courchevel in December 3051. The Jaguar's heavier 'Mechs made a frontal assault and broke through the Nova Cat lines at the Dragon's Rift as the Cats themselves tried a flanking maneuver, however, one warrior from the Second broke zellbrigen and after the ensuing melee only one Nova Cat OmniMech remained to claim victory. [2]
Post-Tukayyid
The Second Regulars were posted to garrison Jeronimo in 3054.[3]
Operation BULLDOG
The Second Jaguar Regulars launched an attack on McAlister during the Smoke Jaguar counterattack launched in an effort to stop or detail Operation BULLDOG. The Jaguar Watch had pinpointed the location of a number of significant supply depots on McAllister and two Trinaries of the Second Regulars assaulted McAlister targeting Supply Forts Blade, Bamboo and Silk on 27 July 3059. Supply Fort Blade was attacked by two Stars, Supply Fort Bamboo was overrun within twenty minutes, while two Stars of 'Mechs with Elementals attacked Supply Fort Silk by combat drop.[4] The Regulars succeeded in badly damaging two supply forts and destroying a third. The loss of these supplies prevented the deployment of troops into the Liberation Zone,[5][6] and forced the Davion Assault Guards off world.[7]
When the Second Jaguar Regulars attacked McAlister[8] they found not only the Twenty-second Dieron Regulars on the planet,[9] but also the Fourteenth Alshain Avengers, First Ghost[9] and the elite Davion Assault Guards RCT on the planet.[10] The effectiveness with which the Second was operating prompted Victor Steiner-Davion to caution the garrison forces on all five worlds targeted by the Smoke Jaguars that they mustn't be complacent, despite initial assessments that the counterattack was unlikely to disrupt the third wave of BULLDOG. Despite the Second's successes, they were eventually overwhelmed by the superior numbers of the defending forces.[11] The Second evidently knew that their assault was a suicide mission, but had been determined to inflict as much damage as possible; if the Smoke Jaguar troops hadn't been determined to win and sacrifice themselves in the process, the damage inflicted might've been less, but as it was enough damage was inflicted to prevent the regiments on McAlister deploying in the third wave of BULLDOG.[4]
