The '''305th Royal Heavy Assault Regiment''' was a part of the [[Star League Defense Force]] Regular Army. It was one of the SLDF's [[Star League Defense Force Royal Divisions|Royal units]], which consisted of troops from the [[Terran Hegemony]].

==History==
Between [[2761]] and [[2764]], [[Draconis Combine]]-based bandits struck the 305th Royal's garrison in the city of Fasolht on [[Quentin]] seven times. Despite knowing their post was vital, [[XXI Corps (Star League)|XXI Corps]] Commanding Officer [[Major General]] [[Gideon Vandergrift]] requested to have the unit reassigned, only to be overruled by the [[1st Army (Star League)|First Army]] which believed it would require a [[brigade]] of regular troops to replace the skill of the Royal [[regiment]].<ref name=FM:SLDFp42>''Field Manual: SLDF'', p. 42: "XXI Corps - Independent Regiments"</ref>

In [[2764]], the unit was assigned, as a part of the XXI Corps, First Army, to the [[Terran Military Region]] and then transferred to District 1 of the [[Draconis Combine Military Region]] in [[2765]] to take part in the [[New Vandenberg Uprising]].
