The 305th Royal Heavy Assault Regiment was a part of the Star League Defense Force Regular Army. It was one of the SLDF's Royal units, which consisted of troops from the Terran Hegemony.
History
Between 2761 and 2764, Draconis Combine-based bandits struck the 305th Royal's garrison in the city of Fasolht on Quentin seven times. Despite knowing their post was vital, XXI Corps Commanding Officer Major General Gideon Vandergrift requested to have the unit reassigned, only to be overruled by the First Army which believed it would require a brigade of regular troops to replace the skill of the Royal regiment.[1]
In 2764, the unit was assigned, as a part of the XXI Corps, First Army, to the Terran Military Region and then transferred to District 1 of the Draconis Combine Military Region in 2765 to take part in the New Vandenberg Uprising. The 305th was destroyed during the Hegemony Campaign.[2]
