History[edit]

The Thirty-sixth Avalon Hussars was either a casualty of the Age of War or one of the many Avalon Hussars regiments to be deactivated during the Star League era after the Star League Council issued the Council Edict of 2650, which limited the maximum permissible size of the military of each Great House. When the Council Edict of 2650 was revoked a century later each of the Great Houses began an extensive rearmament program, including the Federated Suns. The Thirty-sixth wasn't one of those reactivated, at least initially - although a number of other, younger regiments were reactivated and a new regiment of Avalon Hussars, the Fifty-sixth, was founded.[1]

Succession Wars[edit]

At some point during the Amaris Civil War the Thirty-sixth was reactivated, although it was the only regiment within the Avalon Hussars brigade to be operating at a size of just three battalions in total when the First Succession War began in 2786.[2]

On June 22nd 3020 Hanse Davion issued the order for the crippled Thirty-fourth Avalon Hussars and the damaged Thirty-sixth Avalon Hussars to be combined into the new 42nd Avalon Hussars.[3][4]
