History

The Third Liao Lancers were raised as part of the Liao Lancers brigade. As was traditional with the Liao Lancers, approximately one third of their force consisted of citizens of their name world, in this case Mira. They were raised on a world from the former Chesterton Commonality, but lacked many anti-Federated Suns agitators common to other units raised in similar circumstances.[1]

They were one of the seven Liao Lancer units to exist before the repeal of the Council Edict of 2650. In 2765 they were stationed on Anaea.[1]

Second Succession War

In October 2829 the Davion Heavy Guards and Third Ceti Hussars landed on Axton as a part of Operation RAIN - one of two offensives into the Capellan Confederation being conducted simultaneously (the other being Operation SUN). The defending Third Liao Lancers fought a handful of minor clashes, despite being heavily outnumbered, before deciding to withdraw rather than be destroyed.[2]
