History

Clan Ice Hellion

The Forty-fifth Striker Irregulars Cluster was one of the few Ice Hellion Clusters completely staffed by freeborn warriors in 3049. The only trueborn was their commanding officer, Star Colonel Karlotte. The warriors of the unit were determined to prove themselves, and they frequently fought on past the point other warriors would quit.[1]

During the Hellion's Fury campaign of 3050, the Forty-fifth landed on Hoard and challenged the Clan Hell's Horses Fifty-third BattleMech Cluster. The Forty-fifth landed in the middle of a Horse Circle of Equals, which promptly scattered and regrouped. Despite their early successes, the Fifty-third's new warriors were able to drive the Hellions from Hoard.[2]

In 3060 elements of the Forty-fifth were on Hoard and intervened in the First Wolf Lancers pursuit the Fourth Provisional Garrison Cluster of Clan Nova Cat during the Nova Cat Abjuration. Attacking the Wolves and allowing the Nova Cats a chance to escape. It was not done for any friendship to the Nova Cats, but hatred for the Wolves. [3]

By 3067 the Forty-fifth was stationed on Barcella.[4] In 3068 the Irregulars were engaged in a Harvest Trial by Clan Hells Horses on Hoard, the Cluster was defeated and taken as isorla.[5]

Clan Hell's Horses

In January 3069 they joined up with Alpha Galaxy on Niles to reinforce against a Clan Fire Mandrill assault. Their counter attack took back the industrial facilities.[6] The Cluster is not mentioned again and it appears that it was disbanded and the warriors were used as replacements in Alpha after the high losses suffered on Tranquil in 3068.

Officers

In 3050 the commanding officer was Star Colonel Karlotte.[1] Between 3059 and 3067 the commanding officer was Star Colonel Scott Moore.[7][4]

Tactics

The Cluster was not noted for specific tactics.
