The Fourth Alliance Air Wing was an Alliance Military Corps aerospace fighter unit.

History
The Fourth Alliance Air Wing, stationed on the southern continent of Lushann, was charged with defending the planet and Lushann Industries Limited during the Jihad. It has been speculated that the unit's presence may have had a role in the Word of Blake leaving the planet largely unmolested.[1]
The unit was assigned to protect Lushann and it's vital petrochemical industries at all costs. The Diamondbacks were split into their component regiments to garrison the systems near Lushann as well. Regiments from the Fourth could be found on Lushann, Sevon, and Calish II in 3067.[2]
Traditionally the Fourth was equipped with AeroSpace Fighters produced by the Federated Suns, unlike most of the Alliance Air Wings which used fighters built in the Draconis Combine.[3] After the 1st Alliance Air Wing upgraded their AeroSpace Fighters, the Fourth was equipped with additional Seydlitz fighters. Rather than simply replace the fighters, the Fourth used them to build the Second Regiment into a reinforced unit of thirty fighters in three squadrons of ten fighters apiece.[4]
Officers
As of 3025, the commanding officer was Chairman Korskh Xerminsk[5]
As of 3064, the commanding officer of the unit is Chairman Edgar Donnelly. He is unhappy with his job and has applied for numerous transfers, but his success in keeping his unit ready and out of trouble has lead to the AMC keeping him at Lushann[3]
Chairman Amanda Huggins, formerly the mercenary captain of Simpson's Sisters was promoted to the position of Chairman over the misgivings of fellow officers. So far these misgivings are proving groundless as she has created a passable military unit.
All the officers of the Fourth from 3064 occupied their same positions in 3067.[6]
In 3145 the commanding officer is Chairman Thurman Zapata.[7]
Tactics
The Second Regiment of the 4th Wing specializes in interception and fast attack, while the Third Regiment specializes in bombing ground targets.[3]
