History

The Capellan Reserve Cavalry formed during the years between the repeal of the Star League Council Edict of 2650 in 2572 and the eruption of the Amaris Coup. The Capellan Confederation Armed Forces had expanded rapidly, as did the militaries of the other Great Houses, and the Capellan Reserve Cavalry was the last of the CCAF brigades to form (or re-form) prior to the Coup. Between 2572 and 2765 the Reserve Cavalry mustered seven new regiments, with the intention that the Reserve Cavalry would act as rapid reinforcements to other units and as a source of replacement personnel for frontline commands. Like the other regiments within the Reserve Cavalry, the Sixth Confederation Reserve Cavalry was an odd combination of volunteer corps, training cadre and militia, with standing orders for the junior Colonel in charge of the Sixth to subordinate his command to place it at the full disposal of any frontline command it served alongside. This allowed the Sixth to act as a synergistic part of the superior formation, free of internal power-struggles or conflicts.[1]

The Sixth was one of the heavier regiments within the Reserve Cavalry, and was composed almost entirely of new recruits, who were full of patriotism, vigor and fiery enthusiasm. The majority of the personnel initially recruited into the Sixth were employees of Firmir Commercial; with a wave of Capellan patriotism and nationalism sweeping through the Confederation following Barbara Liao's investiture as Chancellor in 2760, the local commonality president, Kareem Bizrah, to give a fiery, rousing speech to Firmir Commercial's employees, culminating in a rallying cry calling for them to give there all for the people of the Confederation. More than nine hundred Firmir employees marched to the local CCAF recruiting station to enlist, and whilst many of them were either deemed unsuitable for military service or were inducted into the local home guard, enough remained to merit creating the Sixth, which was immediately dubbed "The Firmir Yeomanry".[1]

Xin Sheng Campaign

The unit was reactivated by Chancellor Sun-Tzu Liao in wake of invasion of rogue St. Ives Compact 2nd battalion of the Blackwind Lancers in 3060. The unit's creation partially political in nature and lead to the Capellan-St. Ives War. The Homeworld of the Sixth Confederation Reserve Cavalry is Hustaing.[2]

Raised from Home Guard forces, volunteers, and retired CCAF officers on Hustaing, using equipment seized from the Blackwind Lancers. The unit's workup/training was assisted Warrior House Hiritsu.[2]

The Sixth Confederation Reserve Cavalry served on Indicass and Denbar during the Xin Sheng campaign. After hostilities ended, the unit returned to those worlds as a peace offering. The two worlds accepted the Cavalry's presence, but generally didn't warm to the unit. Denbar's inhabitants in particular were very cold to the Cavalry. In response, the Sixth used a Firestarter whose fuel tanks had been filled with paint to spray graffiti all over the tarmac of the main spaceport. The scale of the graffiti was such that it only became visible at an altitude of thousand meters or more.[3] The Sixth returned to Hustaing in 3067.[4]

Jihad

During Operation: Sovereign Justice the Sixth faced off against the 1st Federated Suns Armored Cavalry on Halloran V. They fought the elite unit to a standstill, but were forced off the planet when the Word of Blake bombarded the world and both units. They took up garrison stations on Second Try, Elnath, and Yunnah.[5]

As of 3085 the Sixth was stationed on Corey[6], where they broke into battalion level formations and conducted wargames. One of these exercises occurred in Hollis Incorporated's main assembly area, which disrupted production. The Arcade Rangers needed two weeks to clean up the mess, and the soldier's pay had to be garnished to pay for the lost productivity.[7]

Dark Age

In 3111 the Sixth was assigned to take Second Try from the Republic of the Sphere. Due to technical problems with their JumpShip however, the Sixth lost a third of their force before they faced a fully aware and dug in opponent who was waiting for them. The V Principes Guards had dug into the world and resisted the Sixth for more than a year.[8] After six months of fighting and a resupply mission from Sarna, the Sixth was able to defeat the Fifth Principes.[9] They later faced Kai Allard-Liao and tried to stop his vengeance mission. They also battled Stone's Lament on Wei and fought on Sarna.[10] On Sarna Stone's Pride ran the Sixth ragged until the Sixth was reinforced by Warrior House Dai Da Chi.[11]

The Sixth defended against a raid on the Hollis Industries plant on Corey in 3130. Mercenaries hired by The Republic of the Sphere raided the world, and the Sixth was defending. They sent a series of Shun transports filled with battle armor to the mercenary landing zone and dropped the battle armor on the mercenary DropShips. The Sixth's battle armor quickly seized the DropShips and forced the mercenaries to surrender.[12]

Officers

As of 3063 to 3067 the commanding officer was Sang-shao Ni Tehn Dho.[2][4]

As of 3085 the commanding officer is Sang-shao Dan Evans.[6]

In 3111 the unit was led by Zhong-shao Jasminda Xiang, who took command of the unit after the Sixth's commander was lost in a misjump.[13]

As of 3145 the commanding officer was Sang-shao Conley Asakura.[14]

Tactics

The Hustaing warriors are known for unorthodox maneuvers, and use their armor assets as a flanking force.[2]
