Unit Description[edit]

As part of the Sian Dragoons, the Sixth Sian Dragoons were a part of the largest BattleMech brigade in the history of the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces - both during the Age of War, and then again in the closing decades of the Star League era as the CCAF began rapidly expanding and reactivating regiments - and a regiment that could trace its origins back to when the first WAM-B BattleMechs were issued to support the tanks of the Sian Lancers.[2]

History[edit]

In twenty-sixth century, the regiment was part of a floating defense unit, which was safeguarding the Confederation's border with the Free Worlds League with the Fifth Sian Dragoons. As part of the floating defense unit, one of its most notable actions was in 2529, where the Sixth blunted the attack on Shiro III by elements of the Free Worlds Guards. During its time on the border, the Sixth repulsed no less than six raids by elements of the Fusiliers of Oriente on Grand Base, where the unit's nickname "Grand Base Grenadiers" stems from. The regiment was demobilized with formation of the Star League in 2570, but later reactivated with repeal of the Council Edict 2650 in the twenty-eighth century.[2]
