8th FedCom RCT

History

In 3061 the 8th FedCom RCT recieved direct orders from Katherine Steiner-Davion to secure the McKenna shipyards on Kathil. But as this was not the legal chain of command, Duke Petyr VanLee ordered to withdraw to another planet in the Capellan March. Both sides considered each other traitors and in 3062 fighting with the Kathil CMM erupted. Later, the 8th FedCom also attacked the 2nd NAIS Training Cadre to gain a strategic advantage over the militia.

When the 1st Capella Dragoons arrived in late 3062, the 8th FedCom was outmatched and defeated.

Officers

In 3062 the CO was Major-General Mitchell Weintraub.

Tactics

They prefer battles in open terrain, were they can concentrate their firepower.

Composition

In 3062 the unit consisted of:

• 1 Mech-Regiment (mainly heavy)
• 3 Tank-Regiments (mainly heavy)
• 5 Infantry-Regiments (11th FedCom Armored Infantry, ...)
• 3 Aerospace fighter wings
