History

Operation Revival

Wave Five

The Ninety-fourth Battle Cluster emerged victorious from a Trial of Possession against Clan Jade Falcon to win the right for Clan Steel Viper to attempt to retake Twycross from the Federated Commonwealth forces.[1] The actual attack was undertaken by the 423rd Assault, 428th Assault and Ninety-Fourth Battle Clusters. Landing under the cover of the Diabolis sandstorms, the 423rd and 428th defeated the Tenth Lyran Guards RCT by using the Viper's Maw tactic, while the Ninety-fourth engaged the Ninth Federated Commonwealth RCT and forced them back to the spaceport. The battle was over in a matter of hours.[1]

Tukayyid

The Ninety-fourth engaged the Sixth Division at Devil's Bath. Taking heavy losses it and the rest of Gamma Galaxy had to be rescued by Zeta Galaxy. Subsequently it moved against the fresh 321st and 401st Divisions. This time it was shattered holding the ComGuards at bay, and received over 60% casualties. [2] [3]

Post Invasion

In 3054[4] the cluster was stationed on Twycross with the bulk of Gamma Galaxy. After several years of inactivity the Ninety-fourth attacked Jade Falcon forces on Trinity, initially winning, but were forced off world when reinforcements arrived.[3] By 3060 the cluster had been posted to Trell I.[5]

Ejection from the Inner Sphere

During the withdrawal from the Inner Sphere the Ninety-fourth took heavy casualties along with other clusters of Gamma Galaxy. This prompted the Khan to disband the Fifty-first Battle Cluster and reinforce the Ninety-fourth with the survivors.[6] By 3067 the cluster had moved to Arcadia.[7]

War of Reaving

On Londerholm in 3072 Gamma Galaxy, including the Ninety-fourth, ran up against forces of Clan Coyote and the Society. After a prolonged battle, the Steel Vipers emerged victorious, but at woeful cost. The populace of the planet was found to have been subject to experiments by the scientists, and sometimes showed physical signs of genetic tampering and mutation. [8][9]

In September 3074 a large Viper force of four Galaxies arrived at Tokasha. Finding Clan Blood Spirit forces in a position to take the entire planet the Vipers called their own Trial of Possession for it. The Blood Spirits had three Galaxies on planet and the Vipers landed all four of their to oppose them. The Vipers moved against each Galaxy in turn first crushing Zeta in Koche Mountains. Beta Galaxy found itself outflanked by the Spirits' Omicron Galaxy, but the timely arrival of Nu Galaxy crushed the defenders. Only the arrival of aerospace fighters bombing the Viper lines allowed a few of the warriors to escape. The assault by Gamma Galaxy overran the defensive line of Omega Galaxy allowing Alpha Galaxy to push on to the Blood Spirits headquarters killing their Khan, although the Ninety-fourth was destroyed in the action.[10]
