A Skulk of Foxes, subtitled Fortunes of War #3, is an original novella by Jason Hansa. Announced on the Mercenary Star Podcast and focused around the Screaming Eagles mercenary unit, A Skulk of Foxes is the third entry in the Fortunes of War digital short-story series announced by Catalyst Game Labs as unlockable stretch goals for the crowdfunding campaign for the BattleTech: Mercenaries boxset. A Skulk of Foxes was the $600,000 stretch goal, provided free to Company tier backers and above and available for purchase for those in lower tiers. The title was released digitally for Mercenary campaign backers on 30 June 2024, prior to being offered for retail purchase on 23 August 2024.
