The Abiy Adi system is home to at least three planets, at least one of which is habitable.[1] As of 3145 Abiy Adi was located in the Ningxia Prefecture of the Pesht Military District within the Draconis Combine.[2]

System History

The Abiy Adi system was settled during the Star League era.[3][4] As of 3145 Abiy Adi lacked any recharge stations within the system.[1]

Abiy Adi III

Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard

Abiy Adi III - more commonly known simply as Abiy Adi - is the third planet in the Abiy Adi system. Abiy Adi is a dry and arid world orbited by a single moon, Amarigna, and the surface of Abiy Adi is home to a factory owned and operated by Luthien Armor Works (LAW).[1]

Planetary History

The Jihad Era

In the aftermath of the Jihad as the Draconis Combine rebuilt its military industrial base Abiy Adi was a logical place to construct a BattleMech factory as it was far from borders and easily defended. The local terrain, dry and mostly desert, could easily overwhelm unprepared warriors. Unfortunately the desert climate of Abiy Adi meant that only a limited amount of water was available; following the construction of the various factories shipments of water to Abiy Adi became required for the population to survive.[1]

A new LAW factory was constructed on Abiy Adi to try and offset the massive devastation wrought on the LAW facilities on Luthien. Located near the city of Kola Tembien on the Tsechi continent, the LAW facility was soon churning out 'Mechs, particularly Jenners and Wolf Traps, as quickly as possible, but at a price; some personnel were literally worked to death to enable the plant to keep producing at full speed.[5]
