Absalom Halberstam was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's 621st Brigade until his death in 2735.[1]

Lieutenant General Halberstam was a popular officer, with a habit of finding the largest concentration of his troops each mealtime in order to tell tall tales. An excellent storyteller, he would always stop on a cliffhanger, using the hope of hearing the next instalment as an additional incentive for this soldiers to survive another day.[1]
Dying in a pirate attack on his command tent in 2735, he was greatly missed through-out the entire Sixty-second Mechanized Infantry Division, with it still being a daily tradition as of 2764 for its soldiers to try to concoct the best continuations of his last unfinished tale.[1]
