The Albalii system was home to at least one habitable world, Albalii II, and as of 3145 was located in the Ashio Prefecture of the Dieron Military District within the Draconis Combine.[2][3]

System History

The Albalii system was colonized either during or before the Age of War.[4]

Albalii II

Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard Albalii II - more commonly known simply as Albalii - was the second planet in the Albalii system.[1]

Planetary History

Early History

The first colonists on Albalii were of Arab descent, and they soon learned that the inland regions of the various continents were a poor prospect for agriculture. The first cities on the planet grew on the few beachfront areas that existed, as well as long the few readily accessible rivers; the inland regions were left largely to mineral exploitation.[1]

The Star League

The government of Albalii was looking to expand the amount of agriculture taking place on the planet, but were unwilling to pay the cost of importing fresh water from elsewhere, and instead embarked on a feat of planetary engineering; the government hired DropShips and over the course of the next ten years ferried huge quantities of water from the oceans into artificial lakes on the various continents. The water was then purified, and the coastlines of these artificial oceans became the sites for most of Albalii's cities, watching over the crops growing in the newly created farmlands. Even in the Dark Age, the population would be justifiably proud of the accomplishments made by them and their ancestors, accomplishments which included increasing the amount of arable land cultivated more than a thousandfold.[1]

Dark Age

The planet's HPG station is one of the few working inside the Republic of the Sphere in 3135.[44]

Planetary Rulers

3130

  • Governor Taladia El-Araman[1]
  • Planetary Legate Khalil Vossner[1]

Military Deployment

3079

- At this time the Sixth Arkab Legion were deployed across, Dabih and Albalii. The Sixth was at 75% of full strength, with 50% of their equipment featuring upgraded technology.

Geography

Before Albalii was settled the planet was a desert world, where each of the three continents were cut off from the saltwater oceans on the planet by steep cliffs, a geological formation that had led to the continents effectively becoming large plateaus. The three continents were named Euphrates, Omar and Sadig. Omar is located in the southern hemisphere, while Euphrates and Sadig are located in the northern hemisphere, and each had unusually strong currents, which were the cause of the odd structure of the three continents.[1]

Planetary Locations

  • Borqa: The first settlement to be founded on Albalii and planetary capital, located at the mouth of the Naball River on the eastern coast of Sadig.[1]
  • Galilee Basin: an artificial sea located on Sadig.[1]
  • Giza: a large spaceport located on the northern coast of the Galilee Basin.[1]
  • Great Omar Reservoir: artificial sea.[1]
  • Saladan: a resort city on the coast of the Great Omar Reservoir.[1]
