When the First Tyr took Radstadt in the name of House Steiner during the Fourth Succession War, the Ninth Pesht Regulars destroyed all records of their hidden military supply caches in the hopes of one day reclaiming the system, and when the Ronin War began, the world saw a number of raiders attempt to secure them. With Marcus Kurita's death and ronin commands faltering all across the Free Rasalhague Republic, Marcus' son Alexander—the last ronin senior officer to elude capture—saw Radstadt as a means to resupply his battered forces which would allow him to wage a guerilla war with the Republic for years to come while sowing support within the Combine for the ronin's cause.[2]

Alexander Kurita's forces arrived in Radstadt in September 3034 and uncovered the hidden weapons cache, spending the next month trying to get the base operational again. As they were in the process of excavating numerous BattleMechs from the underground facilities, Christian Månsdottir of the First Tyr realized it was imperative to move on them immediately. His forces engaged the ronin in Radstadt's Nordic taiga, securing the facilities for the Republic and forcing Kurita to surrender. To keep the peace with the Draconis Combine, Kurita, the secret prototype 'Mech he piloted, and many valuable POWs were transferred into their custody.[2]

BattleMech

Following the death of his father, Alexander Kurita received the katana-wielding prototype HTM-ON Hatamoto-Chi named Onimaru, which Christian Månsdottir considered to be the "walking symbol of the ronin's bigoted ideals."[2][3]
