Alice Day was the commanding officer of the Thirty-second Lyran Guards as of 3062.[1]

History[edit]

Leutnant-General Day, serving with the Thirty-second Lyran Guards, was stationed on Solaris VII in 3062. Day was a native of Tamar and, unlike her predecessor General Gustav Van Buren - who was killed suppressing the massive civil unrest on Solaris in August 3062 - was considerably less supportive of Archon Katherine Steiner-Davion. A field commander rather than an administrator, Day struggled to rebuild the damaged 'Mech forces of the Thirty-second Lyran with a lack of support from Lyran Alliance Armed Forces High Command and most of her unit still stationed on New Kyoto serving to further hamper her efforts.[1]

When the Federated Commonwealth Civil War broke out and Duke James Sandoval launched a large-scale campaign against the Draconis Combine, violence on Solaris once again boiled over as the local Combine MechWarriors flew into a rage in mid-December. Having enacted de facto martial law by Christmas day, Day and the commander of the Seventeenth Arcturan Guards settled into years of low-intensity combat against terrorists and guerrilla fighters.[2]

Day's detachment of the Thirty-second Lyran Guards was recalled to New Kyoto sometime before July 3064 and would next see combat as part of the rebellious troops of the Free Skye Revolt attacking Hesperus II on 12 July 3065.[3][4] Having been swayed to the secessionists side by Duke Robert Kelswa-Steiner, the Thirty-second Guards faced an ensemble of Katherine-loyal units, including the battered remnants of the famous Gray Death Legion and their sibling regiment, the Fifteenth Lyran Guards. While Day was captured by the GDL during a massive assault on 18 July, her unit succeeded in killing Colonel Lori Kalmar-Carlyle of the Legion and effectively destroyed the storied mercenary group.[4]
