The Ammon system was the location of at least one habitable world or construct and as of 2767 was located in the Onverwacht Province of the Outworlds Alliance.[1]

System Description

The Ammon system is located near the Achnoly and Schrim systems.[1]

System History

The Ammon system was either colonized by the Outworlds Alliance at some point during the Star League era after the end of the Reunification War or became a significant enough system during this period for Inner Sphere nations to record its location on maps.[2][3][4] The Ammon system was removed from maps at some point during the First Succession War,[5][6][7] indicating that the system had either been abandoned, depopulated or rendered too insignificant to continue recording on maps.

Succession Wars

Ammon was a habitable but cold world with a small population, colonized because of the presence of mineable reserves of germanium. The steady drop in imports of supplies and technologies critical to maintaining vital systems across much of the Outworlds Alliance threatened the survival of those on Ammon; like many of the worlds of the Alliance settled during the Star League era, Ammon had been a corporate world, and the Alliance lacked the resources to support these worlds. When Ammon learned that the world of Wynn's Roost was constructing simple diesel-driven earthmoving equipment to distribute to worlds across the Traders Domain region to replace failing WorkMechs, the population decided to launch an operation to try and steal quantities of the earthmoving equipment. Ammon's population was only some 55,000 people at this point, but the population refused to consider the idea of abandoning their world; with new earthmoving equipment, they could continue to mine coal to stay warm.[13]

Unfortunately, Ammon's attempt to create network of spies on Wynn's Roost suffered from a lack of qualified investigators - the spies were predominantly librarians and sheriff's deputies,[13] and the spies actually ended up revealing their presence because of a lack of understanding of local etiquette.[34] The Ammon militia landed in a Mule-class DropShip in 2820 to seize earthmoving equipment at the factory located in the city of Turner's Toe, and began seizing loot. In common with other factories in the warm, balmy city, the earthmoving plant had facilities like daycare on site, and the presence of a spaceport meant that the Wynn's Roost militia had a small detachment located there. When the Rooster militia arrived, they found the Ammon militia looting equipment while wandering around a factory filled with local civilians.[13]
