History

As at 3061 the Lola III-class Destroyer Anaconda was a WarShip within the Clan Steel Viper touman and was serving as the CSV Anaconda. The Anaconda was one of two Lola III-class vessels in service with the Steel Vipers at this point, the sister ship being the CSV Snake Pit.[1]

In November 3073 the Anaconda joined a task force being assembled by ilKhan Brett Andrews to deal with the Society and Bandit Caste problems affecting numerous Steel Viper holdings during the widespread HPG blackout across the Clan Homeworlds. Joining the massive Leviathan Prime-class battleship CSV Perigard Zalman as well as the Essex-class destroyer CSV Martial Legacy and the Sovetskii Soyuz-class heavy cruiser CSV Sanra Mercer, the Anaconda and the other vessels provided transport and support for an assembled ground force consisting of the entire of Alpha, Beta and Delta Galxies.[2]

The task force was responsible for relieving the beseiged Steel Viper enclave at Station Zebra on Grant's Station; the other enclaves on the world had been conquered by Bandit forces in a campaign launched by the bandits in January 3072. The Anaconda and the other vessels in the task force provided support during the ground campaign and subsequent investigation, only to then find themselves having to support internal Reavings when a mysterious plague swept through the population on the planet, including some of the warriors who had fought or been stationed on Grant's Station.[2]

Anaconda was one of the Steel Viper WarShips which attempted to defend New Kent during the annihilation of Clan Steel Viper in December 3075. Facing off against naval forces from Clans Blood Spirit, Cloud Cobra, Goliath Scorpion, Star Adder and Stone Lion. The Anaconda was the first of the Steel Viper WarShips to be taken out of the fight, less than an hour after the naval battle in the New Kent system began; a Star of marines from Clan Cloud Cobra boarded the Anaconda, and while they couldn't seize control of the entire ship, they did manage to steer the Anaconda out of the position in the Steel Viper formation. This proved a critical move, as the Anaconda blocked the firing arc of the CSV Snake Leader long enough for the McKenna's Pride to slip past and into range for a devastating broadside that ripped open the rear of the Congress-class frigate and left the Steel Viper flagship venting into space after a series of explosions that snapped her keel.[3]
