System Information

The Andalusia system is the location of at least one inhabited world and as at 3145 is located in the Minette Operational Area of the Crucis March within the Federated Suns.[1][2]

System Description

The Andalusia system is located near the Saltville and Simancas systems.[3]

System History

The Andalusia system was colonized at some point during or prior to the Age of War.[4][5] Andalusia had vanished from maps by the end of the Age of War,[6] indicating that it had been abandoned or depopulated. Andalusia was subsequently recolonised during the Star League era after the end of the Reunification War.[7][3]

Planetary History

Davion Civil War

Following the death of Prince William Davion in 2514, his wife,[33] the Dowager Princess Carmen Estevez retired to Andalusia to live in seclusion, having been left debilitated and ill by a series of strokes suffered following the deaths of her children and husband in recent years.[4][5]

Star League Era

The native life on Andalusia was discovered to have great medical benefits, and to expand the habitable area of the planet, the Department of Mega-Engineering, DoME, built large solar mirrors in orbit to focus more energy from the system's sun toward the planet. This created large storms that wracked the planet as it was warmed. By the end of the Star League era, the world was still in the process of being fully terraformed.[34]

During the Clan Invasion, Andalusia was the only world where the mycosia flowers could grow successfully.[35].

Geography

The world of Andalusia only had a small habitable band around the equator that supported life when first discovered. The rest of the world consisted of cold expanses of ice, prior to the extensive terraforming efforts initiated during the Star League era.[34]
