Andrew Rivenberg was a sergeant in the mercenary unit Storm's Metal Thunder and one of its last survivors.[2]

History[edit]

On 7 July 3064, during the FedCom Civil War, Storm's Metal Thunder was protecting Kikuyu when Clan Jade Falcon forces fell upon them. His brother Timothy was in the landing zone, protecting it with his Stalker, but Andrew's Salamander was very far away. He moved to assist the unit's leader, Colonel Griff Storm, but he was already dead when Andrew arrived. When Lieutenant Timothy Rivenberg called his brother, ordering him to return to the landing area, he obeyed.[1]

But his trip wasn't easy; he was on the other side of the encampment, totally alone. He ran through it, being attacked by a Falcon Timber Wolf. His 'Mech fell, but when the Falcon prepared to kill him, the arrival of a Demolisher saved him. The tank attacked the Falcon, and the distraction allowed Andrew to get his machine up again. He managed to crush the Mad Cat's canopy, but he could not thank the tank's crew; it has been destroyed without any survivors.[1]

He resumed his trip and finally reached the landing area, with technicians and support staff moving toward the Thunder's two DropShips, the Falcon forces closing in, and only Timothy's 'Mech standing. He barely had time to enter the DropShip when his 'Mech was downed and he fell unconscious.[1]

When he awoke in the DropShip's sickbay, Timothy was at his side. He told him that his 'Mech had been downed by a Gauss slug and he had fallen unconscious. After Andrew expressed regret at Colonel Griff Storm's death, Timothy said that all the slaughter was on the colonel and he informed Andrew of his decision to travel to Melissia, joining with other Lyran units there.[1]

After arriving at Melissia, both brothers disembarked with their barely functional 'Mechs. They were greeted by the theater leader, General Sharon Bryan, and General Adam Steiner. Bryan ordered them to unload the rest of the regiment and was totally stunned when Timothy told her that they were all what remained.[3]

Both brothers survived the Battle of Melissia and evacuated the planet along with whatever forces Adam could save. At their next destination, the planet Chapultepec, both joined the fight with their 'Mechs repaired.[4]

Timothy and Andrew's fate after Operation AUDACITY remains unknown, but Storm's Metal Thunder wasn't rebuilt.
