Planetary History[edit]

Age of War[edit]

During the Age of War Ariel was home to Toddlette Industries, a manufacturer of WorkMechs and industrial robots. Toddlette entered the military market during the early years of the Free Worlds League's race to manufacture homegrown BattleMechs, by recruiting Colonel J. Marcus Llewelyn-Jaymes as their chief engineer. Having retired as Associate Chief Armorer for the Free Worlds League Military Llewelyn-Jaymes brought a wealth of experience in BattleMech development as well as his contacts with him. In 2469, a year after retiring from the FWLM, Llewelyn-Jaymes had a handpicked team developing Toddlette's first BattleMech, a design that would become known as the Trooper. Despite the Trooper's poor reception and reputation, it would be a major export from Toddlette to the FWLM, and would be upgraded into the Flea in 2501. Earthwerks Incorporated purchased Toddlette Industries in 2581, taking over construction of the Flea and expanding production to five different worlds.[29]
