Colonel Ashley Gorman was the commander of the First Canopian Brigade from at least 3145 to 3152.[1][2]

History[edit]

Gorman, with the First Canopian Brigade, was based on Booker as of 3145.[1]

In 3152, while stationed on Candiear, Gorman was requested to join Colonel Isolde Centrella's assault on the Marian Hegemony. Notorious for her unit's lack of discipline and autonomy in responding to threats to the Magistracy, Gorman jumped at the chance to join Centrella's taskforce.[3] Rendezvousing with Centrella in the Lindenmarle system on 19 April 3052, Gorman arrived just in time with the JumpShip Desmostrenes to join Isolde's attack on Booker and Marantha. Colonel Gorman initially argued her unit should join the forces who commenced an attack on Booker on 27 April, but was convinced to instead lead the assault on Marantha, taking advantage of the First Canopian Brigade's experience with guerilla tactics.[2]

Commencing her counter-invasion of Marantha on 25 May 3152, Gorman's force landed outside the capital city of Dixonderoga. Securing the city, Gorman moved to put the Marian Hegemony CO Prefect Ferdinand Hurley defensive positions under siege, which held for about a week. Prefect Hurley however attempted a break-out on 31 May, having underestimated the supplies he required, and was initially successful in seriously damaging the First Canopian Brigade's Second Battalion. The situation was stabilized from a Canopian perspective by the intervention of the Third Battalion of Gabrielle's Pride, after which Isolde Centrella reached out to Hurley in an attempt to parley. Advising Hurley that further Canopian reinforcements were likely to arrive after the recapture of Booker, and offering free passage off-world with all the equipment and supplies he had captured, Isolde managed to convince Hurley to withdraw back to the Hegemony.[4]
