Bart Bradshaw was an officer from Bannson's Raiders.[2][1]

History[edit]

Born on 3103 and with reddish-brown hair and blue eyes, from the moment he was old enough to walk, he began to tinker with anything he could get his hands on. By early childhood, while other kids might have been disassembling toys or perhaps even watches, Bart had advanced to holovids and other electronics. By his early teenage years he was attacking hovercars, not only taking them apart but putting them back together better than before.

By the time he was sixteen he'd already been in jail for auto theft and vehicular vandalism, and there was strong evidence, though he was never convicted, that he murdered a girlfriend. Upon his release, he quickly found himself hip deep in small-time organized crime on his birth world. An invaluable asset to any organization due to his unmatched electrical expertise, he was rewarded with his only real desire in life, which was learning how to pilot a 'Mech.[1]

It was only natural for him to join The Scourge of Bannson's Raiders. He simply could not believe his luck. Not only was he finally piloting a BattleMech, but his current ride was a brand-new Clan design, newly off the assembly line in the Clan Nova Cat enclave in the Draconis Combine.

On the 14th of January 3133 Bannson's Raiders launched a raid on New Rhodes III that forced the Swordsworn to retreat from the planet.[3] The Raiders' attack was a deliberate attempt by Jacob Bannson to test the resolve of Duke Aaron Sandoval.[4]

For that action Jacob Bannson chose Captain Bart Bradshaw. The defense of New Rhodes III was led by Captain Ben Gerringer from the Swordsworn. After the initial attack on New Rhodes III, Captain Bradshaw pulls his forces back from Xerxes. He then appeared to commit a classic strategic blunder, splitting his forces in the face of the enemy, but planned to send the smaller force, masquerading as the majority of his forces, to strike at night against one side of Xerxes and then apparently be pushed back, hoping that the defending Swordsworn would be unable to resist leaving their defensive position to pursue the "defeated" Raiders. Part of the Swordsworn took the bait, so his second stronger force then struck from the opposite direction, securing Xerxes.

Following the assault on the city, a small portion of the remaining Raiders on the planet attempted to move toward their grounded Seeker-class DropShip, with which they'd lost contact. On such a dangerous planet and without accurate maps, Bradshaw's force became lost, and the terrible heat quickly began to take its toll. They were then spotted by native nomads who contacted the Swordsworn and pledged themselves to help defeat the Raiders. Those natives guided a small contingent of the Swordsworn to attack The Scourge.

Having lost the initiative against the Swordsworn, Captain Bradshaw found his forces facing an all-out push by remaining Swordsworn forces to secure the Raiders' grounded DropShip.[2]

But eventually the raid was a success, which led Bannson to begin planning an expansion throughout the worlds of Prefecture IV.[4]

He was present at the meeting held on 29 July 3136 in the Bannson Universal Unlimited Arcolgy on Tybalt, where the top The Scourge officers met with their CO, Hadrian Roth. Many in the unit though he was one of the bosses' favorites, but even he did not like the new policy that broke The Scourge's old rule: "You catch it, you clean it, and it's yours". But in the end he accepted it as he already had a BattleMech.[5]

He was in the Scourge Compound on Tybalt on 6 August 3136 when Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Wallace took control of the unit from Jacob Bannson. Bart was detained while trying to go for his 'Mech and half his company — the good ones — sided with Stephen. He saw that Stephen's rebels had captured Jacob Bannson and were going to transport in an Excalibur-class DropShip to have a word with an unknown party,[6] later revealed to be the Republic of the Sphere.[7]

Bradshaw piloted an Arbalest, serial number NC333-89X, which he named Fister.[1]
