I have been on and off BTW forever. I remember a time before it was a Wiki. I finally decided to create an account and see what I can do to help. It has provided me with useful knowledge and links to the Battlemech Designers as well as other useful programs and intel. I have been playing since the 3025 Tech Readout was new! A scary thought, I must admit. I recently got back into Battletech and now I have to get all new minis! Damn college life! I lost them all moving years back! I hope I can provide anything useful to keep the caliber of this site high. I shall know go back to loading my AC/10 with Armor Piercing rounds. Good day!--Faithfuldemise 03:03, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Vynstindis

I've been using BTW for about six months now and I decided to created an account. I currently play Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries and cannot wait for the new game to come out. I stumbled onto BTW from google, searched "Battleteck wiki" and found this; been happy ever since. I've read a few books and REALLY like the Dark Age timeperiod. Hope to contribute, Vyn. Zakair

Mbear

Thought I should contribute something since I have used the system for a while. So I did. It's been a while since I've played, but I still have the sourcebooks and stuff. Plus I need something to do while looking for work. ;) Mbear 15:43, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Istal Devalis

After using the services here for a while, without actually contributing anything, I've decided to try actually giving something back in the way of time and effort. I'm mostly a Nova Cat fan and hope to revamp their sections a bit. Istal devalis 15:51, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

NPettinato

After a year of utilizing the Wiki's vast, BattleTech resources, I decided to contribute. Being a fan of the Rim Worlds Republic, I have constructed a faction list for those wishing to play period-specific games for this Periphery power. I am also involved in correcting the dates of manufacture for the MegaMek program's MTF file library. NPettinato

PymFan2000

I've been lurking here a good while, looking up the occasional reference from CBT forum posts that I didn't understand references to. I've been really enjoying the Dark Age novels and the Jihad sourcebooks, which are the only real BT items I own aside from the Intro box set. I've thus far played 2 games of MW and 2 games of BT so I'm a complete newbie rules wise. The lore and history has me hooked though... Pymfan2000

After editing some minor stuff and some more complex things lately, i decided to make an Account to better keep track. Longtime BT Fan here, hope i can contribute to the wiki :)

Deimos

Hi. Being a fan of Battletech since the Crescent Hawks Inception came out during the 80s. Since I'm reading more fluff on this site recently, just to refresh my memory of (C)BT; thanks the announcement of S&T and the 25th anniversary. I've decided to contribute as little or as much as I can to the wiki in the near future.

Paladwyn

Greetings! Been a fan of Battletech for many years. Looking to start a Megamek campaign with a few friends and came back here to find some resources. I've known about this site for over 10 years and come back once in a while. I am currently looking for the jump calculator that I used to have, but unable to find it again. Anybody help with that?

Strick-9

Hello everybody, Great to find people who love BattleTech as much as I do. I've played on and off since 88. Had to pause a few times, grown-up stuff, LOL. I've got many tech readouts and novels. I noticed that the stats for the LAMS are in the Mech lists but, no pics. I have the pics from a first copy 3025 tech readout for the LAMS. Is it ok to post them or is there a copyright issue still and that's why their not there? Also, just got my hands on a 2750 readout with the stats on the types of naval weapons used in BattleTech. Will edit them to the wiki ASAP. If I can be a help with questions on tech issues please ask. If I have it I will do my best to get the info out. Thanks again to all. To the site Administrators, Awesome job!

Krazus

Hi Folks, I have been playing BT since 84, had some breaks due to lack of oponents, but its always there waiting. Personally I dont really like going beyond 3058. I have just about everything ever published and love the novels. I am not sure what I cna add to this fantastic resource, but i will try to find something I can help with. Its great to see after 25 yrs CBT is far from dead.

cheers

s.gage

Greetings! I think this is great work, and I thought with my interests in BattleTech being pretty broad I might add some content. All of the things I have added are well referenced, and hopefully read easily... I started playing in the early 90's, and have kept up with most of the BattleTech timeline with various supplements. Within the last several months, my interests have turned towards the deep periphery and Clan space as I am working on a deep periphery MechWarrior campaign. Beyond periphery realms, I am interested in BattleTech history (but not so much on major characters, playing with them is too detrimental to the continuity...), and I am hoping for a TRO on the early Clans (why always play games in the present, no?). Cheers. S.gage 23:04, 7 April 2009 (PDT)

Nathan Brazil

Hi there. I used to play BattleTech back in the 80s because I was interested in Robotech the game had LAMs. I played and read until the end of the first Clan scenarios when ComStar beat them at the Tukayyid. Left because there was not enough support for the roleplaying. Drifting back now, I had heard the game had an improved roleplaying part and a combined arms thing called Strategic Operations coming out. My interests, and I hope, contributions, are on the strategic and historical level. Astrographic data like jump routes, survey and census data, history, timelines, biographies. Comes from my evil Traveller interests, I suppose. That is what I would like to add. Nathan Brazil 11:42, 11 March 2009 (PDT)

Ursusmajor77

I got into BT in early 90s played pretty steadily 2 times a week for about 2 years. I still own a fairly large number of manuals and game books. I got into reading the novels in 95 when I spent a few mmonths disabled and think that I have to date read all the novels up to I Am Jade Falcon. Ursusmajor77 00:57, 21 July 2008 (CDT)

In 1990 a few friends were trying to talk me into trying this game they were playing called BattleTech. I resisted. Beating up giant robots sounded just too cool, and I knew I would end up buying every product in sight. I was right. I ended up buying almost every sourcebook available. My roommates and I played BattleTech every Monday night for three years. I offered to GM if it meant we'd only play BT. In 1994, I had one of the first BT pages on the net. (I think Nic even linked to me). I got out of the game after college, though. Now I'm teaching my 10 year old son to play and starting to write BT fiction again. y0mbo 08:47, 17 June 2008 (CDT)

Workerbee

Back in the late 90s (I caught on late to Battletech), I got a copy of one of Robert Thurston's Battletech novels at my local bookstore as a bit of light reading for home. However, reading the book, I soon realized that this series was incredibly well-written and well maintained, and I decided that I wanted more of it. I began collecting more and more of the novels, and eventually got myself a copy of the boardgame, as well as most of the computer games (MechCommander 2 is by far the best in my opinion). Upon finding this site, I immediately decided to try and give back some of my accrued Battletech knowledge so that anyone, whether die-hard fan or occasional Battletech player, could learn and gain more about the Battletech universe.

As a personal style, I loathe careless mistakes made while typing, especially spelling mistakes that bring down our language in tatters all around us. I know mostly the history of the Battletech universe, and I will probably stick to those sorts of articles for my editing.

As a side note, my favorite 'Mechs are by far the Blood Asp and the Marauder. The Battletech universe just would not be the same for me without those two.

James Cobb

Hi, I'm James Edward Crego. My callsign, which I'll use on this site is James Cobb. I'm hoping to one day write straight fiction for BT/MW and then write other sorts of fiction just for the hell of it. I'm currently engaged in school, earning my Professional and Creative Writing Degree, both B.A.'s, so I can teach literature. Hey, it's a living. 72.179.167.92 07:58, 28 January 2008 (CST)

Haruspex

Hey there, as I said on my personal page I got my Battletech start with the Star Lord novel followed by Tactics of Duty which introduced me to the Gray Death Legion. I was hooked ever since, and played Mechwarrior IV: Vengeance, Mechwarrior IV: Mercenaries, as well as MechCommander 2.

In college I met a guy who had the original hex game on his PC (I can't remember the name of the software) and tried it out. He won of course, being an even bigger BattleTech nerd than I was.

When Dark Age came out I was a bit confused. Reading the novels it seemed that the setting was reduced to battles with about four 'Mechs a side. This seems to match WizKid's miniatures game where there aren't that many 'Mechs, but I don't think I like it. Maybe they'll escalate the situation until we get back to the multi-regiment scrapfests of old like the Clan Invasion and the FedCom Civil War.

Later I discovered MechWorks and tried my hand at Mech design. Why didn't they fit PPCs on the Wasp? MechWorks spelled it out for me, and my understanding of CBT increased immensely.

When I got back to my old MechWarrior: Mercenaries game, I decided to look up BattleTech and Mechs on the Internet. Lo and behold, Google pointed me in the direction of BattleTechWiki. So here I am. Haruspex 09:04, 8 January 2008 (CST)

MasterOfDisaster

Greetings all, ive been submerged in the lore of CBT since my earliest days via the tv show as a child and then by the books during my 6th grade year. Ive been trolling about the CBT online commnity for some time and only am now coming forward to de-lurk and offer my services as well as my extensive amounts of personal data that i have accumulated. Ill try and chime in as much as possible and upload my 7 years of hording knowlege. Not to blow smoke up my own ass but my laptop is a bit of a Star League data core, all i have to do now is decipher my gibberish abbreviations and upload it. I greatly appreciate this wiki as an outlet for my immense amount of time vested and a place for me to use ym extra time (i have insomnia so i have plent of time.) so thats enough of me being long winded, gracias to the max! FIVE-one

Hi everyone ! I'm a Battletech geek, still glad to see BT is not dead ! I've been invited by Scaletail to post here. I restarted my BT passion one year ago, when launching myself in MW:AoD. I rediscovered the pleasure to fight in the name of the Clans. I love to read topic about Clan 'Mechs and, you should saw it, I'm a Clan suppremacist (lol). I'm also glad to help the CBT community by writing entries which hasn't been written yet. I have also to tell I'm, naturally, a Clan player and I'm actually #9 French player (since Paris Gencon Championship, May 2007) in the name of Clan Wolf. Well I think it's all I can say, otherwise I would become too pretentious :p....

DragonoftheRust

I have been invited to introduce myself so I thought it best to do so now. My name is Drew and I am Nerd. Note that I say "I am Nerd" rather than "I am a nerd", this is because I am the strangest person I know. I play DnD and it eventually got me started on other table top game systems such as BattleTech. I will tell everyone right now that I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and I cannot abide by mispelled words and grammatical errors (even though I still find myself occasionally making them). My point being that I absolutely hate it when people use terms like "thier", "varaition", and, worst of all, *shudders* "teh". Please check your spelling before you finish editing an article, I don't mean to be rude about it but it drives me crazy when I see sloppy mistakes. My main goal for this wiki is that a person should almost be able to play BattleTech straight off of the wiki. Thank you for listening to my ranting. --DragonoftheRust 20:51, 11 September 2007 (CDT)

welcum 2 teh wiki rustic 1! …I was going to try to inundate you with a reply mostly of that nature, but I just can't do it. I understand where you're coming from, it's almost painful to read the horrendously misspelt and poorly worded messages people leave. (Tends to be considerably worse on medium-ly populated wikis; it's downright infrequent here.) While it can grate on your nerves, it often pays to look past such failings; whilst there are certainly some bad spellers out there, the few we have here tend to be a smart and friendly batch overall. Anyway, welcome to the wiki (sorta belated, but oh well). --Xoid 10:08, 23 October 2007 (CDT)

Kittle

Hi, my name's Emma, and I'm a mecha geek. I first took an interest in Battletech when Mechcommander came out, although I didn't start to get heavily into the game until Mechwarrior: Dark Age came out. I've never actually managed to play the Classic Battletech miniatures game because everyone I met who'd ever had an interest had given up and moved on to other things by the time I met them, but I've played a lot of Dark Age, Mechcommander 1 and 2 and Mechwarrior 4.

I came across this wiki whilst I was working on my "Great Project" of trying to replicate all canon battlemech designs up to TRO:3067/Phoenix in Mechwarrior 4. So far I've done all 808 IS mech variants (Apart from one-offs like Tancred Sandoval's Templar loadout) and I'm taking a break before starting on the clan mechs.

I've only been able to track down a couple of of Battletech books (TRO: Project Phoenix and Field Manual: Periphery to be precise) because it's nigh-on impossible to get Battletech stuff where I live, so I probably won't be much use on the creating of articles and things. However, I've had experience as an editor in a few small publications, so I'm very good at spotting mistakes and correcting English, so I'll probably stick to clean-up to start with. Kittle 20:46, 6 September 2007 (CDT)

Oh, one thing I almost forgot. Not sure where the right place to ask this is, so I'll ask here. Does anyone know what the right format is in the use of 'a' or 'an' in front of an acronym? For example, would it be "A LRM 10" or "An LRM 10". The way I was taught it, you use 'a' if the next word begins with a consonant and 'an' if the next word starts with a vowel, but no-one ever taught me what to do with acronyms and saying "A LRM 10" just sounds wrong to me. Any advice would be gratefully received. Kittle 20:53, 6 September 2007 (CDT)

Bdevoe

Hello all. I neglected to do this earlier, so here goes. :) I have been involved with BTech since 1987 when I first got introduced to it and I've loved it ever since. All of my experience with the game is pre-Clan, so that's what I know and love best. The Third Succession War is where my knowledge mostly lies.

I was Clifford on BTech 3025/26 MUSE and ran that game for about 3.5 years before handing it off to someone else. I played for many, many years, but it's been a while since I last played "competitively". :) I'm working on trying to fill in the gaps on the wiki that I know about regarding the 3rd and 4th Succession Wars.

I have most of the source books from the 3026 time frame, including all of the house books, the tech readouts and the Mercenary's Handbook from that era. I'm sure there are some things that I'm lacking, but I didn't think them necessary at the time. :) My latest acquisition was a first-print House Liao book.

I've played a lot of the computer games that were put out, including all of the MechWarrior and the MechCommander games. Again - it's been a while, but this is something I'm getting back into full force. :)

Let me know if you have any questions/comments. Thanks! Bdevoe 13:31, 1 August 2007 (CDT)

Rabid

Hi peoples. Obviously I just signed up and thought I'd say G'day *waves*. I'm from Australia, like walks in the park, watching movies and blowing hell out of my friends in Mech combat. >=) I have been interested in BattleTech/MechWarrior for a number of years having played alot of the MechWarrior series PC games (MW2+expansions, MW3+expansions, MW4+expansion, MC & MC2), read alot of the novels post-4th Succession Wars and GM'd a smallish BattleTech games as well as just starting a MechWarrior RPG with some mates. I would like to contribute to BW in any way possible with what resources I have. I have quite a few e-books (mostly the older house field manuals) as well as most of the 1700 series FASA hard copies including all official FASA Tech Readouts from 3025 to 3060 plus a couple of the early 1600 series hard copies. I've never helped with a Wiki before, so if I can be of any help at all, let me know.

Agus101186

Hello everyone, i just signed up with Battletech Wiki , but i would love to contribute as soon as possible. While i started becoming a fan of the battletech universe via the classic battletech novels(only). I started at the very end of the series, right where the fed-com civil war was closing to a halt. While i was trying to hunt down the other books on the list(much of it discontinued) i dabled with the Mechwarrior Computer games( I started with Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries). Those combined with few other battletech-themed computer games(Mechwarrior 3, Mechwarrior 4, Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries, MechCommander 2) are the only source of my knowledge on the classic battletech universe. While i never played the MechAssault games on the X-box that was suppose to connect CBT(Clasic Battletech) with the new novel line from Wizkids, Mechwarrior: Dark Age(MWDA), i have collected and read most of the novels by Wizkids. I am reading book no. 22 :Wolf Hunters by Kevin Killiany. Since there is very little information partaining this frame of time in the battletech universe, here in Battletech Wiki(Wikipedia has more articles, which lead me to ask, can we, should we, just link the information on wikipedia straight to battletech wiki, if so, how?). I would like to expend more on this particular timeframe, whoever is interested as i am in cataloging this particular timeframe, or just dropping by to give friendly advice can use the the talk page given to me by Battletech Wiki or just E-mail me at agus101186@yahoo.co.uk

I conclude my introduction by apologizing for my long-windedness and any error i might have unintentially made.

Bludlust

Hi all. I'm currently just a reader trying to glean some information for an upcoming fight. I've been into Battletech since before dirt was formed...JK! A long time though, so long I don't really remember when I started, but I do know that it wasn't long after the first of the boxed sets came out. 66.69.125.220 18:58, 4 July 2007 (CDT)

The fight has started. One Star of a Ghost Bear recon unit against 2 lances of a veteran mercenary company. We had to break in the middle due to time constraints, but will pick it back up soon. One mech of the Mercs is out of the fight with only minimal weapons and one leg, another is very badly damaged and is only hanging on by a thread. The star, while beat up now, with one mech operating with an engine hit, is still very much in the fight. More updates as they occur.

Curse the Stravag dice. The fight went badly for the clan. Four head hits took out two mechs, and box cars on a center torso penetration took out a third with three engine hits. The fourth went down by losing all of the center torso, but no engine explosion. The last lost both legs and all weapons. The fight lasted 10 rounds. After the sixth round, when the Star Commander determined that he was going to lose this fight, broke his bid and called in re-enforcements. Unfortunately, they did not arrive in time.

The story will continue.66.69.125.220 22:31, 11 August 2007 (CDT)

Toma2648

Hey. My name's Tom and I've been addicted to BattleTech since 1993 or so, when my older brother got the 3rd Edition boxed set for his birthday. In terms of my interests, I'm more excited about the Star League and the Succession Wars than any of the later history; the games that I've run have been set during the 3rd or 4th War. Personally, I think that the original, non-reprint Technical Readouts are some of the best BattleTech resources out there... so I guess it's fitting that my first submission was based off a TRO entry. Expect some more, next time I get bored. =) Toma2648 14:31, 19 June 2007 (CDT)

Dmon

HELLO EVERYBODY I thought I should drop by and introduce my self before I start editing to many articles. Ive been into CBT for about 13 years and in that time ive never progressed much past "Wow big robots with very big guns!" but it keeps me out (or should that be in) of trouble so im happy ;-)-- Dmon 14:53, 12 February 2007 (CST)

Always glad to have another Editor. If basic copy editing is your 'thang,' check out the BattleMechs Project. They always have editing work they're asking for. Again, welcome! --Revanche (talk|contribs) 20:36, 12 February 2007 (CST)
Thanx Revenche. Basic copy editing isnt my "Thang" but im new to the wiki format so I am starting small.--Dmon 08:27, 13 February 2007 (CST)
Well let me/us know if you have any questions. I'll also point out the 'cheat' guide that was enormously helpful for me when I started out. And our Help page ain't too bad, either. --Revanche (talk|contribs) 09:07, 13 February 2007 (CST)

Medron Pryde

Hey all. I've only been here at the BattleTech Wiki a few minutes. :-) I was invited here by Revanche and I figured after some thought that I might as well come on over. Hehehe. I hope to be helpful here. I worked on wikis before so the basic idea behind them I do understand. I hope I can be helpful here. ;-) --Medron Pryde 06:37, 19 December 2006 (CST)

Hi there Medron! New blood is always welcome, glad to have you aboard. --Xoid 06:40, 19 December 2006 (CST)
Second that. Glad to have you here! Between Nic & Medron, its like a Sanford & Sons reunion (err...the joke being that they both have top-notch BT archives...which is like...oh, never mind.) --Revanche (admin) 23:13, 19 December 2006 (CST)

Xoid

I'm relatively new to the BattleTech Wiki (been around a week or so), but I'm no newbie to MediaWiki; I saw a few templates that needed some attention, some minor things here and there and decided to step in, give a nudge in the right direction and give a lil' bit back to Sarna.net after using it so often over the years. I wasn't planning on sticking around, but when I saw the marvellous work that CJKeys was putting in, I changed my mind. --Xoid 05:21, 21 November 2006 (CST)

And we're dang glad you did. Welcome! --Revanche (admin) 09:04, 21 November 2006 (CST)

Jimmy the Tulip

Hi all. I don't think I'm the newest here either but I'm here as a Reader (to glean more BT info), an Editor (to help these guys who do all this hard work to make this the best BT info site ever) and as a Creator (for writing fiction, which is one of my loves). Hi to all who are here and all who have yet to arrive. --Jimmy the Tulip 15:09, 20 November 2006 (CST)

Revanche

Hello...while I'm not quite the newest person here, it still's good to introduce myself to the community. If you're posting here to say hello, post right above this post (or the otherwise top-most post if I'm not the top one) and say hi. Whether you're here to gather information (as a Reader), provide it (a Creator) or update (an Editor), we're very glad to have you here. Let's make BTW the best resource it can be for the BattleTech community. --Revanche (admin) 10:26, 19 November 2006 (CST)

Frabby

Hello everybody! Well, here's me: I started playing classic boardgame BT and reading the novels in 1992, back in a time when I had plentiful of spare time in the army (Luftwaffe actually). Not knowing anything about the game universe or the 'Mech designs I randomly affiliated with House Liao and chose the Archer as my 'Mech for the first training battles. The preferrence for House Liao stuck.

Besides boardgame 'Mech combat we did a lot of scifi roleplaying in the BT universe back then and eventually played our own merc unit (with periphery bandit background), the Harbingers of Doom. They eventually merged into the Oberon Confederation if I remember correctly. Truth be told though, BT was only one of the many roleplaying/boardgame systems that I played during that time.

Around 1996 I played as Liao MechWarrior Frabartolo in a text-based online BT community. I eventually dropped out because my university uplink was too slow for the realtime combat simluator, leaving my 'Mech a sitting duck in the training exercises, and thus preventing me from ever partaking in any serious battles. My notable exploits during the time included wasting 3 Griffins in a row in ill-fated attempts to prove the design's superiority on the battlefield, faring surprisingly well piloting a Crusader (a design I don't like) and eventually getting assigned a Cataphract, but never the Archer I always asked for. Despite merely mediocre combat performance (or perhaps because this was still better than than the average Liao MechWarrior) I was promoted to Subcommander, drafted into Warrior House Imarra against my wishes and given command of a Lance that had never seen combat action by the time I had to quit the game.

I liked the early LosTech flair of the BT universe and started to lose interest in the storyline when the Clans arrived because I do not like their in-credible story and the associated tech and rules and general munchkinism :-( Accordingly, my BT interests primarily cover the time period between 3000 and 3050, and the inner workings of the BT universe at that time. Always enjoyed playing the Liao underdog.

If I were to name a favorite Clan then it would be the Ghost Bears, or perhaps the Snow Ravens.

Amen, brother! There are more people who like the older 3rd Succession War thing than people realize, I think. I thought that even the 4th Succession War was a bit a betrayal, but I understand the need of a company to grow an enterprise. :) All of my stuff is completely played completely in pre-Clan days and actually pre-FedCom days. Hello there mate, welcome to Sarna. You may wish to actually register an account; it ensures that your contributions are attributed to you and will enable you to still edit the wiki in the unlikely event that a soft-ban has to be issued on your IP address/range. --Xoid 23:18, 22 October 2007 (CDT)

Communibus Locis

Old school Battletech player from the 80's. I don't play anymore but still purchase the source books (long live Amazon!) as I enjoy reading the history of the universe. I was a big fan of the Black Widow (I KNEW she was "related" to Alexander! lol) back in the day but recently have been focusing on the history of the clans. Mostly from the exodus through the golden age. I get a little bored with the Clans Return.

Seems like my enjoyment is from the early 2000's to the formation of the Star League then The Exodus to about 3000. I'd have to think about my favorite clan but probably Clan Wolf. I like that it is Nicolas Kerensky's "clan" although I have scoured every single source book for information regarding the Minnesota Tribe and the Clan that shall not be named. PerkinsC

Old School BattleTech Player that is quite more into the Bones of the universe than i am into the status of the factions...

I run sheets for things that I use to verify things.

Being an Office Automation Clerk in my other life, I find that it i the numbers that you can trust... and often not the knee jerk reactions of the community at large... PerkinsC 18:33, 1 March 2008 (CST)

Cyc

Another old school Battletech player (cliche!), I haven't played a game since high school which scarily is decade ago at this point. Getting older and running out of space have caused my long claimed goal of getting out to slowly come true, but still retain enough knowledge and enough books to contribute worthwhile edits. Main conflict in my contributions are books are at home, while ironically I have the most time to visit while I'm at work, thus most of my edits are general tag/pipe repairs from endlessly prowling the wanted page list Cyc 18:36, 22 May 2008 (CDT)

moosegod

A totally new school Battletech player. Got in through MechWarrior 2, then left it for a while. Came back with MegaMek, and now in love. I'm Inner Sphere- I love true humanity. But I am not sure what faction. Probably somewhere minor in the Periphery. I almost like the Free Worlds League, but they were stupid enough to side with the wobblies. I've been working with ASFs. Not because I like them, but because they are the only ones not done so far. Moosegod 20:27, 14 June 2008 (CDT)

The Big Eye

I've honestly never played Battletech. It's not too popular in the far north... I played an adaptation of it once that was made by a long-time pencil-and-paper RPG fan who later left for university, but that's about it. Big fan of the Mechwarrior series, though. I got Mechwarrior 4 nigh on three years ago, and I still play it all the time. I'll mostly be useful for sporadic spelling and grammar checking 'n such. Just happy to be on the team! Qesun Vendak

New to Battletech, but been a fan of the universe through the Mechwarrior game for years. Happened at one LAN Party. A teacher from my school was chaperoning the party and was also a gamer. One who was getting frustrated with his game of Mechwarrior 4 Vengence. I asked if I could try. Beat out that mission and the next few after it. Had my parents get me a joystick and Mech 3 for that birthday.

I got into Battletech when a friend of mine moved over where I live from the hole he used to live in. Actually got into it not by gameplay itself buy by customizing mechs. Ended up creating the Mule and the Tinman (UM-T1) that night.

Ever since then I've been further and further introduced to Battletech through multiple games of it with friends. Most games through MegaMek now. I've got the Tech Manual and access to an assortment of BT related documents, so I might be able to provide help every now and then depending on what I see is needed. JubalHarshaw

Hi. Long time fan of the BattleTech universe ... mostly played the video games, but have read a ton of the sourcebooks for fun, did a little tabletop/RPG gaming in the universe back in the day, and just generally enjoy it. I'm also a huge proponent of wikis in general. Glad to be aboard! JubalHarshaw 14:31, 18 August 2008 (CDT)

Onisuzume

Konnichiwa, as thy say in the Combine. I've been a fan of BattleTech ever since the TV series I guess. My only problem is the lack of other players in my area. (so I haven't bought any models yet) So mostly, I have to console myself with the MechWarrior games. I occationally checked this wiki for information about the various 'Mechs (which is slightly faster than flipping through TROs), but was kinda disappointed at the lack of a number of 'Mechs. So, its time to put a change to that. Onisuzume 02:25, 4 November 2008 (PST)

Tripler

Howdy! I've been a fan ever since high school (1991), and have played off and on ever since. While I have not been playing in near on a decade, I've actually found that Battletech (and all its data) have been great source of data for learning how to build databases, spreadsheets, generating forms, and all sorts of jobby-job skills I can translate into paycheck-earning work. Yes, I have had to "Minimize Screen" because I was importing equipment tables from Excel to Access when my boss walked in. Still though, it's a fun game to plan and strategize with, but I just haven't had a good opponent to get me back into it. Lately, I've been gathering all of my previous documentation and consolidating it into a mercenary unit's core set of rules, including TOEs, manpower documents, and maps (in AutoCad!) of my base and its facilities. Like I said, it's a great way to learn other software platforms when you're not rolling dice! Someday, if I have kids, I look forward to showing it to them too. 22 Nov 08.68.101.0.187 04:13, 22 November 2008 (PST)

KevinSSr

I have been a fan and player for over 10 years. I haven't played for a while since my son left the house. While this doesn't allow me to play the game, I still keep up on it. As Tripler says above, I use battletech for programming inspiration. For my JAVA (not javascript) class, I recreated a Mercenary Contract Generator that actually prints out the contract or saves it to a file. I have also programmed a Temperature Converter in C++ (and Visual Basic) and Planetary atmosphere, miscellaneous information and temperature converter in Visual Basic. I have numerous WORD and EXCEL documents including TOE's for my mercenary command (started in 3025 and running through 3050). Now I concentrate on planetary and system exploration. This means several things. First, I've plotted the entire Inner Sphere and Clan systems in 3d. I am looking for information about planets and systems so I can fill in the blanks. I also have a program that helps create systems. So when the book says Jerangle is 3 of 5 planets, but doesn't specify the other planets, I can create them and their moons. This makes for a more realistic system and gives more information other than x,y coordinates and system name! So working on planets is one of my big things. One other note: I probably have almost all of the rulebooks, sourcebooks, TROs, and adventures since Battletech started. So I should be able to help alot! KevinSSr 19:21, 6 December 2008 (PST)

Longi

Hey there, I'm also known as Nostra on CBT forums, if you want to look me up. I'm a longtime battletech/mechwarrior fan, having been playing the computer and console games steadily since Mechwarrior 3 debuted. I'm only just now getting into Classic Battletech gaming, but I played Dark Age when it first came out, and have been playing battltech in some form or another for quite some time.

FellBlade

Hello, i first got into Battletech over a decade ago, 1995 to be exact and left it for many years, I have found myself pulled back in partialy by our local Commando and partialy by the incredibly deep setting Battletech has to offer. I hope to add matereal to the Wiki, and of course to continue playing into the future.

Cheers.

Dracoix

Hey, I'm Dracoix (also known as Q on MekTek forums.) I first encountered with CBT in 1996 when playing the MW:31st game and been devoted since. I'm also a professional composer and freelance programmer. Glad to be contributing here on Sarna finally ever since seeing blank pages. --Dracoix 04:23, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

I am 75.121.106.238 I am an unknown, from the unknown. A serial number. Informative. But only if you know how to read it. I had no wish to ascend above a casual anonymity. Simply fixing a spelling error, rewriting a paragraph for grammar's sake. I have no great knowledge. But I do what I can. --75.121.106.238 Anonymous since 8-31-2009.

LordPestilence

After browsing the articles here on BTW, I finally decided to contribute. I'm the one who did the articles on the 1st Battalion of the 1st Davion Guards RCT (from the PC game MechCommander) and a couple of related articles, since I've been a MC and BT fan for more than 10 years.

Call me Pest!

ThePov

I'm part grammar cop, part researcher. I'm not likely to do any major changes to existing pages, just grammar stuff, but I might create a short page that needs to be created every now and again. I'm a pretty avid BT fan, and I hope that i can make this a more complete and correct Wiki, because that's what BT deserves ThePov 15:26, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Ouchies81

Battletech has been a passion of mine since I played Crescent Hawk's Inception so many years back. I've been editing small grammar and spelling errors here for awhile in my free time and when they annoy me. I figured I'd give a hello to all the other contributors here! Greyhind

Heya peeps, I followed a user back from the CBT forums like a little lost child and am now planning to screw up all your hard work and claim the resulting mess as my own. I do not, however, own much in the way of source material so I'll be concentrating upon the horrifying realm of grammar! --Greyhind 10:37, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Citizen Erased

Greetings to all! I'm a current poster with this handle over at CBT, and a former poster of the Sarna.net forums under the handle MacLeod. Lit major, long-time BT fan, yadda yadda... Basically, I'm here now to change those long nights I spend reading up on source material into long nights correcting and adding source material to the Wiki. Underadarkhand

I guess I should say hello one and all. I don't have the experience with the books that others probably do, however sense what I will be adding to the site will be strait up fanon work any way it should not be to much of a problem. I would like any help with the particulars of putting up a fan universe up that anybody will willingly give. Underadarkhand 17:13, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Gabaux

I am a real fan of the BT books... sorry, novells. I am fond of the stories told by Stackpole and other people.

rebelscum

Young writer seeking editorial experience and fun all in one giant, shiny metal package.

I too am a fan of the fiction created around the BattleTech universe. Michael Stackpole, Robert Thurston and Blaine Lee Pardoe are all names I like to see in print, and the stories they tell have fueled my imagination for quite some time. I've also played the game BattleTech with friends for about 20 years now (on and off), and have a love for the game and all things connected with it. Rebelscum 05:25, 4 April 2010 (UTC)
