The Blue Hole system was home to at least one habitable world, Blue Hole IV, and as at 3145 was serving as the capital of the Clan Jade Falcon Occupation Zone.[2][3]

System Description

The Blue Hole system is located near the Chahar and Roadside systems[2][3] and consists of a class K7V primary orbited by at least four worlds. During the thirty-first century a recharge station was in place at the zenith jump point.[1]

System History

Blue Hole was settled by the Lyran Commonwealth during the Star League era at some point after the end of the Reunification War.[4][5][6]

Blue Hole IV

Template:InfoBoxPlanetStandard Blue Hole IV, more commonly known simply as Blue Hole, is the fourth planet in the Blue Hole system.[1]

Planetary History

The preponderance of fresh water on Blue Hole immediately made colonists wealthy as they exported fresh water to any number of worlds in the Lyran Commonwealth. Tourism also formed a large part of the economy, but during the FedCom Civil War Blue Hole was on the front lines. Clan Jade Falcon forces attacked the world and destroyed several units - House and mercenary - on the planet before Clan Wolf-in-Exile forces drove the Falcons away. The Wolves remained as a garrison force after the Falcons were removed, but there was a great deal of tension between the local citizens and the Wolf-In-Exile forces.[1]

In late January 3069 Clan Jade Falcon forces attacked and captured Blue Hole.[7]

Geography

Blue Hole has a geography unique in the Inner Sphere. Most of the world's continents consist of a series of giant rivers covering the land like a network or lattice. These rivers empty into lakes that are surprisingly deep. This lattice of rivers and lakes extends far underground and takes the place of seas found on other worlds. The underground channels are wide enough to pass submarines and BattleMechs.[1]
