Bolin was a Clan Smoke Jaguar Elemental known best for his questionable bravado in the Battle of Tukayyid.

History

Bolin was a member of the Sixth Jaguar Dragoons, and as such took part in Operation REVIVAL. In May of 3052, his unit had the honor of being the first to land on Tukayyid, making an orbital drop over the Dinju Heights in an effort to surprise the defending Com Guards and secure a landing zone. Warrior Bolin waited longer than the others in his unit to slow his fall; he wanted the honor of being the first Clan warrior to set foot on the battlefield, even if it killed him. Bolin waited too long, as it turned out, despite the long burn he gave his battlesuit's jump jets. The trees he smashed through in the final few meters were not nearly enough to have any meaningful effect as he hit the surface well ahead of his fellow warriors. He was not killed by the impact, but his spinal cord was severed, his legs were shattered, and he was briefly knocked unconscious.[1]

Thanks to his Battle armor's trauma subsystems that supplied him with painkillers and combat drugs, the ambitious Bolin quickly woke up and was still sufficiently combat effective to fire the first shot of the battle, though he missed the Com Guard Guillotine at which he was aiming.[1]

Aftermath

The badly injured Elemental was rescued after the battle, thanks to the survivors in his Elemental Star, who were evacuated from the planet along with the rest of the few surviving Jaguars. Bolin's commander reprimanded him for the breach of discipline, but he was recognized across all Clans as the Warrior with the honor of being the first to arrive on the surface of Tukayyid.[1][2] The injuries sustained ended his military career, however.[1]
