The Bountiful Harvest system was home to at least one habitable world, Bountiful Harvest IV, and as of 3145 was in the Clan Jade Falcon Occupation Zone.[2][3]

System Description

The Bountiful Harvest system is located near the A Place and New Exford systems[2][3] and consists of a class F2IV primary orbited by at least four worlds. During the thirty-first century a recharge station was in place at the nadir jump point in the system.[1]

System History

The Bountiful Harvest system was colonized during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra,[4] and by the end of the Age of War had been incorporated into the Lyran Commonwealth.[5]

Bountiful Harvest IV

Bountiful Harvest IV - more commonly referred to simply as Bountiful Harvest - is the fourth planet in the system, orbited by a single moon named Scarecrow.[1]

Slightly larger than Terra, Bountiful Harvest lives up to its name in almost every regard, blessed with fertile soil, bright beautiful oceans, amazingly temperate climate and abundant fauna and aquatic life. The largest agricultural planet within the Lyran Commonwealth, Bountiful Harvest has huge tracts of flat and arable lands that cover over 70 percent of its five main landmasses - Amber, Abundance, Grandeur, Lush and Vibrant - and two large oceans, the entire word an agricultural haven able to support its own needs as well as more than a dozen neighboring systems.[32] [1]

Planetary History

Discovered by the Protectorate of Donegal shortly after that realm's formation but quite close to the borders of the Tamar Pact, Bountiful Harvest soon became the center of considerable tension between the realms, nearly leading to war over control of the breadbasket world. Ultimately the Commonwealth government settled the dispute by opening Bountiful Harvest up to three separate companies from the Protectorate of Donegal, Tamar Pact and Federation of Skye, all three corporations eventually merging to form Bountiful Delicacies, the single largest agricorp on the planet and arguably the Commonwealth as a whole.[1]

Star League

At sometime during the Star League era, a pirate force raided Bountiful Harvest. The defending forces, the 41st Mechanized Infantry Division, built a false town to lure the raiders into a predesignated area. Expecting a populated area where the SLDF would not engage them, they entered the uninhabited town just before the 41st destroyed everything in the area with a concentrated artillery barrage. The remaining pirates, thinking the defending forces would stop at nothing regardless of civilian casualties, quickly surrendered. It was later that the pirates found out they were tricked.[33]

Succession Wars

Bountiful Harvest was an example of one of the many worlds impacted by the military conscription of civilian transport JumpShips during the brutal First Succession War, the planetary economy plunging towards collapse as the planet's argicorps were unable to export all but a fraction of their normal volumes, the bitter irony of Bountiful Harvest choking on its excesses, forces to wipe out entire crops and herds of food animals it could not sell to neighboring worlds like A Place and Hegel, worlds which now began to starve due to the same lack of commercial transportation.[34] [35]

The Jihad

On the 29th of December 3073 the Word of Blake's Fiftieth Shadow Division raided Bountiful Harvest. Defending Bountiful Harvest at the time were the Second Wolf Strike Grenadiers and the Fourth Wolf Guards Cluster from Clan Wolf-in-Exile, who put up a fierce resistance, forcing the Fiftieth Shadow Division to retreat after taking heavy damage.[36][37]
