System Information
X:Y Coordinates-315.093 : -159.326[e]

The Bowang system was home to at least one habitable world and as at 3145 was an autonomous system within the Free Worlds League located close to the borders of the Duchy of Tamarind and Rim Commonality provinces.[1][2]

System Description

The Bowang system is located near the Tchamba and Wolof systems.[1][2]

System History

The Bowang system was colonized during or shortly before the Age of War.[3][4]

Planetary History

Star League

Elements of the 91st Mechanized Infantry Division tracked down and destroyed a pirate base in the uninhabited regions of Bowang. The base itself was heavily fortified, but the precision of the SLDF's artillery and air strikes allowed the force to seize the base within two hours without any collateral damage.[26]

Succession Wars

As an independent world strategically located between the Abbey District, Duchy of Graham-Marik and the Principality of Gibson, Bowang was a major trading hub within the Free Worlds League during the Succession Wars. The planetary leaders, recognizing their ideal position, encouraged a stance of neutrality in all business and political dealings. This further encouraged trade so that seeing vessels from dozens of worlds within the League was a common sight at the system's jump points. The space lanes of the system were constantly full of tenders, shuttles, and dropships moving cargo between ships and the planet's surface.[27]

In Darby, the planetary capital, branches of most of the major corporations and trading houses within the League could be found. Business and political leaders enjoyed the system's renowned neutrality, using it to work out the most onerous of disagreements and deals. This helped avoid the usual difficulties that arose when doing business within the League.[27]
