History
Brighton's Irregulars were one of several mercenary units in a "large contingent" of mercenaries that Federated Suns sent to raid Spica in 2970; other named mercenary units in the action include Gunther's Grenadiers and Deidre's Destroyers. The mercenaries were surprised and all but destroyed by the Capellan Confederation's Red Lancers together with the Prefectorate Guard, netting the defending Capellan Confederation forces sixteen salvaged 'Mechs of all types.[1]
