Caesar's Crown is a star cluster located in the Deep Periphery.[1]

System Description

Caesar's Crown is a young star cluster in the anti-spinward Deep Periphery. Located approximately 665 light-years from Terra, beyond the Marian Hegemony, the location of the astronomical feature was released by Interstellar Expeditions on charts in 3095.[2] Like many star clusters found within 1,000 light years anti-spinward of Terra, Caesar's Crown is a collection of young stars; the cluster is relatively open, and while there are a number of planetary systems within Caesar's Crown, the individual planets are only just starting to settle into stable forms and orbits.[1]

As with other young clusters of stars, Caesar's Crown represents a navigational hazard to JumpShips due to the standard stable jump points often being cluttered with stellar debris; standing recommendations issued by Interstellar Expeditions called for JumpShips to exit from hyperspace at three to five times the normal distance when navigating near the various stars of Caesar's Crown, and to never use pirate points within those systems.[3] In contrast with the young worlds to be found within Caesar's Crown, many habitable worlds could be found within the nearby astronomical feature known as Caesar's Bow, a long string of star systems that formed an arc trailing from Caesar's Crown around the edge of the Aquila Rift as far away as the Deep Periphery nation known as the Axumite Providence.[1]

Notes

Caesar's Crown was first identified in 2012 with the publication of Interstellar Players 3: Interstellar Expeditions. Other than the astrogeographical location of Caesar's Crown, no information was provided in the system; in the absence of further information on the Deep Periphery no further detail is likely to be available on Caesar's Crown.
