Do we really need this?[edit]

I don't think this category offers any extra information, and is superflous. Worse, it is pretty undefined - every company will go out of business one way or the other at some point, and for most companies we don't even have those dates; typically, all we know is that a given company existed at a given point in time. As such, I advise against this category.

If we keep it, I strongly recommend to rename it into "Defunct companies". The current handle is too unwieldy. Frabby 15:55, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

I see a lot of overlap between this and the Destroyed Manufacturing Centers list, which has only a few entries in it.--Mbear(talk) 16:45, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
I agree that this is a rather pointless category --Dmon 16:54, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
I was a little hesitant to create it myself, but figured I would give it a try. Oh why could I not think of Defunct when I made the category! LOL I will abstain with my vote as I am okay with either outcome.CungrVanck 17:08, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Taking action...now called Defunct Companies.--Revanche (talk|contribs) 17:20, 9 March 2012 (PST)
